(Leader Photo) . $98 During Completed Fiscal Year Farm and ranch loans of over $98 million were made by the Federal Land Bank of Berkeley "During the past two years of credit scarcity the Land Bank has again proven itself a of long-ter- m dependable source ' for credit farmers and ranchers," Mr. Anderson commented. Throughout this tight money period the Berkely Land Bank has been able, at all times, to obtain funds for the legitimate need of its customers and provide special terms to meet farmers' present narrow profit margins. The outlook is for capital requirements for agriculture to continue to increase as farmers cope with splraling costs and relatively low prices for farm products. The bank makes long-ter- m farm and ranch real estate loans through 39 Federal land bank associations In Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah. The 39 associations own all of the capital stock of the bank. in its five-sta- te service area during the fiscal year just ended, according to word received by Keith H. Anderson, manager of the Federal Land Bank of Tremonton. The Tremonton association is the local office through which land bank loans are made in Elder Box County. . While new-lo- an closings in recent months have been down because of the tight money situation, the Berkeley Land Bank completed the year with loans outstanding at an all-tihigh of more than $470 million.
