Grant Fridal directed the meeting with Evan Thompson presenting awards to boys from all Dens. Theme for the month of September had been patriotism with the boys learning about their Country and the Flag. Several skits were given by boys under the supervision of their Den Mothers. Cub Scouts, Mrs. J. E. Scheib came from Pocatello and spent several days at the home of Mrs. Darlene Zinck caring for her children while Mrs. Zinck had surgery on her arm at St. Benedicts hospital in Ogden. Junior Madsen has returned to his Army Base in Colorado. He recently had been home on furlough. Junior now has the rate of Specialist 4th Class. Mrs. Gus Burbank was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party, Wednesday night. It was held at the home of Doug and Margie Bur-ban- k with all members of Mrs. Burbank's family in attendance. Iverson issues the following information. Mailers are reanired to describe contents of parcels in detail on the customs declaration tag, showing the exact nature, quantity, and value of each kind of article enclosed. General descriptions, such as Christmas gifts, clothing, merchandise, are not acceptable. If a parcel tendered for mail is not packaged adequately for the the length of the journey and the protection of the contents, the mailer will be informed that it cannot be accepted until properly prepared. The long sea transit frequently involved in the transmission of parcels by surface means, customs inspection and other formalities that parcels may be subjected to in the countries of destination, require that mailing be made as early as practicable to assure delivery by Christmas Day.
