Ward Party Held The annual party of the Garland First Ward officers and teachers was held Monday at the city park. Saturday visitors at the F. J. Limb home were Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Peterson and children of Ogden. Mr and Mrs. Floyd Stohl and family of Ashton, Ida., spent the weekend visiting with relatives and friends in Tremonton and Garland. Mrs. W. H. Barcuss of Idaho Falls visited last week with her daughter, Mrs. Andy Campbell. The Campbells took her home Sunday. Weekend guests at the Ellery Hall home were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Longhurst and family of Rexburg, Ida. The Berkeley Parkson family of Rexburg, Ida., joined the A. R. Hodges at Lagoon Sunday, and spent the night in Garland before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anderson and daughter of Pocatello, Ida., were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Buchanan Sunday. They gave the program in the Garland First Ward meeting Sunday evening. The Andersons were associates of the Buchanans in San Diego, when the men were both serving in the Navy. Dixie Frisby of Idaho Falls visited the weekend with her grandmother Mrs. Ida Michaelis. The Errol Bones and A. F. Turleys attended the funeral for Mrs. Mary Hale, mother of the two ladies. She was buried in Salt Lake City after a long illness at the ago of 86. Garland Local and family were Salt Lake City visitors Friday. The Eldon Munns family spent the weekend at Alder, Mont., with Mr. and Mrs. Gene Munns and family. Mrs. Victor L. Hansen is attending a DUP story writing school in Salt Lake City this week. Plans European Tour Mrs. Kenneth Boss is leaving Salt Lake City Thursday for a tour of Europe. She will go by bus to New York, then by plane to England, tour the continent and attend the dedication of the London Temple. She will be with a Brigham Young University guided tour. Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Munns and two children of Pasadena, Calif., are visiting this week with relatives in the valley. Orlin is a son of Arch Munns of Elwood. Mrs. Rex Jensen took her father, John Roberts to Salt Lake City Saturday to visit his brother, who is in the Veteran's hospital. Mrs. Pearl Cullimore left Fri day for a visit in Denver, Colo., with her daughter, Elaine Ely and family. She will be accompanied by another daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Diderickson of Grantsville. Carter Baby Improving Michalo Carter, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Carter, who has been hospitalized in Ogden. was able to return home Saturday much improved. Has Major Surgery Peter Boss is in a Brigham City hospital where a major operation was performed on him Wednesday morning. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
