Show THE LEADER, Tremonion, Utah Thursday, August 21, 1958 RIVERSIDE By Myrle Udy Summer Activities Highlighted By Family Reunions The Udy family reunion was held at the Reese park in Brig-haCity Saturday. Those who attended from Riverside were; T. J. Udy, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Udy and family, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Burnett and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Udy. The Capener family reunion was held at Lagoon Saturday. There were about 200 family members present. There were four brothers all over 80 years of age in attendance, Arthur, Alf, Aaron and Ted Capener. Their only living sistter was unable to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Capener and family, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Capener and family, Iceland Capener and Mrs. Joyce Cornwall and family were present. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Richards and children were in Afton, Saturday and Sunday Wyo., and were met there by other family members for a Richards family reunion. The families of four sisters, Mina Ward, Mabel Hadfield, Carrie White, Salt Lake City and Martha Peterson, Riverton, met in Guinevah park in Logan canyon for a reunion Saturday. Mr. Hadfield and Doris Roche and three boys and the two sisters Mabel and Mina were in attendance from here. The Forsberg family met at Gus's cabin Sunday for a reunion, the George, Joe and Clarence Forsberg families attended. Mr .and Mrs. Grant Steed and three children of Tucson, Ariz., visited Louise Udy and family Wednesday. Grant and Louise are brother and sister. m Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wolverton and daughter of Ogden visited the Ray Udys. The ladies are sisters. Birthday Club Meets The ladies of the birthday club met at the home of Marian Hales to honor Marion Hales and Esther Jensen for their birthdays. Mrs. Peggy Justisen of Moses Lake, Wash., called the Bill Silvesters Saturday night to wish her dad 'Happy Birthday'. Mrs. Elvis Silvester of Ogden and Mrs. .Allen Silvester and two daughters of Promontory visited the Bill Silvesters Thursday. Mrs. Agnes Burnett visited Mrs. Lizzie Wolverton and Mrs. Edith Smith in Tremonton during the week. Mrs. Doloris Holley of Ogden and Pearl Stewart of Roy visited Mrs. Burnett Monday. They all went to Malad. Tuesday Mrs. Agnes Burnett went to Logan to help her daughter, Mrs. Horton Nish whose son is ill. Mr .and Mrs. Clair Lundberg and boys of Hyrum and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lundberg of Logan visited Mr . and Mrs. Earl Hales Sunday. The Hales are parents of Mrs. Clair Lundberg. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hess of visited Mr. and Farmington Mrs. Henry Tubbs Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Krantz of Midvale visited Mr. and Mrs Leland Bourne during the week The ladies are sisters. Garden Party Held At the Leland Bourne home a garden party was held for friends from Davis County; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Green, Louise Green, Ezra Thurgood of Kays ville and Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Hollist of Farmington. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Kraaima and baby spent Saturday with Sails To Islands the Bournes, parents of Mrs. Kraaima. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ray Phillips and boys of Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. D. Wayne Bourne and children of Layton spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bourne. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Capener, Helen Capener and Mar Lee Capener went to Denver last week where they will spend several days. Fifteen M.I. A. officers and girls spent Wednesday and in Logan canyon. Thursday Those attending were Maurine Nina Udy, Burnett, Helen Capener, Inez Johnson and Max-in- e Coombs, leaders, and Erlyn LaPriel Capener, Forsberg, Gloria Burnett, Trina Ward, Faye Udy. Bonnie Udy, Barbara Udy, Karen Johnson, Mar Lee Capener and Betty Capener. The Bruce Gearys of Salt Lake City spent Sunday at the J. O. Hadfields, parents of Mrs. Geary. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Udy spent Saturday and Sunday in Magna and Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. James Hall. Saturday night they attended the stock car races. Sunday Mr .and Mrs. LaVoy Udy visited Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Udy in Ogden. Doris Foster and baby spent several days with Mrs. Foster's mother, Mary Udy. David Capener returned from six weeks encampment in the north west. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Odell Thompson and childdren were at the Bluebird cafe in Logan Sunday to honor Ward Thompson on his Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barfuss and daughter, June, accompan- ied another daughter, Ardella, and her family to San Francisco where Ardella and her family boarded a ship for the Philippine Islands. They will be met by Mr. Barfuss who is there in the US Navy. They expect to be stationed there for two or three years. Mr. and Mrs. Barfuss and June continued their trip, driving up the coast to visit Ray Barnes and family. Mrs. Barfuss and Mrs. Barnes are brother and sister. They returned via Boise, where they visited Roy Barfuss, and Rupert, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Dell Tompson and family. They returned home Aug. 13. Mary Edna Thompson went to Qrem for a few days visit with a friend from Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hales and Deana were in Salt Lake City Friday. Cheryl Ann Richins of Pleasant View spent several days with Deanna Hales. Sunday her parents, Mr .and Mrs. Virgil Richins visited the Hales and took her home. Lynn Walters of Magna and several friends visited at the Dale Udys. Ray Pierson of Ogden visited the Deloss Jensens Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Phillips and children of Lehi visited the Deloss Jensens during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Alf White and children visited Ruie Kennard Sunday. Mabel Munns and Annie Lee spent some time with Mrs. Kennard Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Lott visited Amanda Bowcutt Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Boyd of Farmington, N. M., are visiting Amanda Bowcutt and other relatives. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bowcutt and daughters and Kathy White and Mrs. Bowcutt spent the day at Lagoon.
