May 17. 1956 Funeral services for Nels Ephraim Christensen, 71, who died last week in an Ogden hospital were conducted Thursday afternoon in the Bear River Ward chapel. Bishop Vernon Johnson conducted the service and Wanda Johnson played the organ prelude and postlude. The invocation was given by Hyrum Christensen, and the ward choir sang, "Beautiful Home", as the first number. Other music for the service included a vocal solo, "Beyond the Sunset", by Lilian Felt, a vocal duet, "In The Garden", by. Flprence Gardner and Dorothy Jeppsen; and the closing song, "Oh, My Father", by the choir. Speakers were Abinidi Frank Braegger, A. J. Taylor and Bishop Johnson. The benediction was given by Doyle C. Archibald. Burial was in the Sear River Cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Hans M. Tol-ma- EICIION NIELSEN Roger and Ara Conger Nielsen of Garland have a new baby boy born May 12. She was one of the few who accumulated 200 or more points in activities of the school year. Miss Mason was voted a "Buzzer Personality" for and is one of 12 seniors to be so featured in the college yearbook. She was also elected to Alpha Sigma Nu, honorary senior organization, whose members are chosen for their personality and participation in school activities. Johnson of Garland has been named a recipient of a graduate scholarship in Physics of $1000. Mr. Johnson is one of the ten to merit the scholarships, which are a part of a total of $18,000 to be given graduate students of Brigham Young University. Hollis is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis O. Johnson of Garland. He is married to the former Grete Leed and they have a year old daughter. He is working for a Master's Degree at the pared for the coming year.
