Show 1 EAST GARLAND By Mrs. Eph Peterson Friends Honor Bride Elect JoAnne Shaffer who is to be married, Sept. 2nd was guest of honor at a bridal shower held at the home of Mrs. Marion Sorensen Friday evening. Hostesses were Marie Grover, Anderson,, Janice Peterson and Lennis Christensen. The evening was spent playing games and refreshments were received served. The bride-to-b- e many beautiful and useful gifts. Mrs. Henrietta Theissens of San Leandro, Calif., is spending a few days with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Adams. Golden Adams took his father, W. A. Adams to Pleasant Grove Friday where he will attend the Guyman family reunion and visit relatives. Mrs. Gilbert Allred has as house guest an uncle from Los Angeles, Calif., Moroni Minson. Delose Adams and girls visit ed Mrs. Leila Boothe and family in Ogden and the Earl Youngs in Perry Friday. Miss JoAnne Shaffer spent from Monday to Thursday at Boise, Ida., with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Shaf fer. Mrs. Jasper Shaffer held a Quilting at her home Tuesday where a beautiful quilt was made for JoAnne Shaffer. Mr. and Mrs. Dave McKnight enroute to their new home in Aberdeen, Wash., where he has accepted a teaching position, were Sunday dinner guests at the Mart Riser home. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Shaffer attended the Sugar Company outing at Guinevah Park in Lu-An- n Logan Canyon Saturday evening and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kirk- ham of Lakeside were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Grover Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gardner and family of Logan were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Harper.5 Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Harper attended their class reunion held at the High School this week. At the banquet and dance the Harpers received a prize for the most children. Returns To East Garland Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Hansen have moved back to our ward after living the past 15 years in Logan. They are now established in the Wendell Hansen home. We wish to welcome them back to the ward. Mr. Hansen was bishop for a number of years in the East Garland Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hansen were in Salt Lake City Sunday for the farewell testimonial for a brother and wife who are leaving soon on a mission. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Sorensen and family were at Eden Friday evening where they attended a Hamburger Fry at the Bar B Ranch as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walt Reese. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Edvalson of Ogden visited with Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Rhodes Sunday afternoon. Roger Oyler, Dean, Barbara and Richard Shaffer returned Thursday from Idaho where they had spent the past 10 days at the Lyle Johnson and Roy Oyler Jr. homes. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Archibald and family of Ogden spent the weekend at the Joe Oyler home. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Larson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Neffer of Salt Lake City visited at the Louis and Paul Larson homes Sunday. The program in Sacrament meeting was presented by the girls under the direction of Joan Grover. Sneakers were Jean Shaffer, lone Harper and Nadine Rhodes. The girls also sang a vocal number accompanied by Hazel Riser. Guest speaker was David Christensen of Clarkston. Leonard Bishop was the High Councilman present and spoke briefly.
