She was born November 30, 1920 in Beaver to Samuel Gerald and Mabel Madsen Gentry. She married Clarence Skougaard in Beaver, June 4, 1938, he died March 1946. She married LaMont Lowe in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Survivors includes her husband of Parowan, one son and two daughters: Dennis of Lehi, Mrs. Wesley (Geraldine) Dalley of Lehi and Mrs. MaryEtta Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters; Samuel and Mrs. Robert (Irene) Goodwin both of Cedar City; Russell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Edwin (Maude) Woolley of Ogden; and Mrs. Heber (Emily) Gillins of St. George. Preceded in death by two daughters; Darlene and Katherine. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24, 1986 in the Cheek Out The Box 351, Parowan First and Second LDS Ward Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Relief Society Room at the Church from 11:30 until time of services. Burial will be in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Stephenson Anthony CEDAR CITY William Stephenson, 79, died March 24, 1986 in a St. George hospital. Born January 6, 1907 in Holden, Utah to Anthony Edward and Usslear Johnson Stephenson. Married Erma Bishop, May 16, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Dec. 16, 1972. Married Vilda M. Smith, Feb. 22, 1975 in the Provo LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church for nearly four decades. He served as faculty member and as Dean of the School of Business at S.U.S.C. He received his education at the Utah State University and the University of Denver. He began teaching in the public schools in 1935. He joined the faculty of day. 438-286- 9 ooooooooo Charles and Lorna Carlow and granddaughter, Teddy Lynn and her daughter, Suevon Butterfield of Salt Lake are in Beaver for a visit. They came to visit Lorna's sisters, Leola Limb and Zona Myers and Charles sisters and families, Maurine Sly and Jessie Ward. I guess as we get older we forget, 1 really did. Now I remember how proud we were of Gloria Murdock when she was in the several years before Teresa was. So I've had two granddaughters and three great granddaughters as members of the v, (Sorry, Gloria.) Milton and Lynett Smith had a dinner and a party at the home of Milton's parents, Delvin and Shirley Smith on St. Patrick's Day. It was really a fun party with the games planned for the evening. Guests were Karl., and Jessie Ward;., Don and Maurine , Sly; , Kay and Veloy Ashworth, Delvin and Shirly Smith, S.U.S.C. in 1942 and was instrumental in developing the Business Education Program at the college and advancing the Business Administration, Accounting and Industrial Technology Programs at the college. He served two terms as president of the Utah Business Teachers Assoc. and is a former officer and executive board member of the Western Education Association. Following his retirement from the college in 1972, Joseph (Patricia) Stapley, Big Pine, Hal Smith, he served as City Manager of Cedar California; two step-sonBeaver, Utah; Don Smith, Brigham City. He is survived by his wife, St. City, Utah; twelve grandchildren, brother seven George, two sons and a daughter, Anthony Ray, and John Edward, WillardN., Delta, Utah; three sister, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. Ellen Sigard, lna Larsen, both of Brigham City; Mrs. Van (Ruth) Bishop, Delta. Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. in the Cedar 8th. LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday, p.m. and Friday morning 9:30 10:30 a.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary. Jim and Carma Sly of Springville, Utah and Don and Maurine Sly went to Phoenix, Arizona for four days to visit. They went to see Don's sister and family, Allene Lowden, Allene's son, Mike and wife Peggy and their three children flew in from Germany to visit with the family. Don and Maurine returned by way of Havasau City and spent one night, to see the London Bridge. Joe Sly of Hemet, California spent Wednesday night with Don and Maurine Sly. He was on his way to ' Manti, Utah to visit his daughter, Jennie and family. Joe is the son of the late Dale and Helma Sly, former Beaver residents. 11 Martha Louise flurst passed away Sunday, March 23i,' 1986 ih the Beaver Valley Hospital. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 27, 1986 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Cemetery. Paul and Marilyn Anderson and Peggy Blackner were in Parowan, Utah Thursday, March 29, 1986 for the funeral of their aunt Belle Hyatt. She was a sister to Reta Burt but Mrs. Burt was unable to attend the services. While Lorna and Charley Carlow were visiting here Maurine Sly had a family dinner and get together. The Carlows went on to St. George to enjoy the sunshine and bathing in the Hot Springs in LaVerkin. Leola Limb accompanied them. Vona Cox is staying with her daughter, Col'een and Robert Lee after being in the hospital for heart problems. She is slowly improving "our best wishes go out to her for a speedy recovery." Dr. Donald and Debbie h and children, Tiffany and Brandon are in Beaver for their Easter vacation. Eugene and I, Randy and Allyson and family, Alisha, Scott, Shandra, Britney and Colt were invited for a barbecue ' ' Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Nelson and their daughter from Chino, California spent one night with their mother, Lapriel Edwards. They were on their way to Logan to a funeral of family. They will spend some time on their way home. LaRae Cox and Lapriel Edwards went to Milford Saturday night to see LaRae's son, Jess Cox play basketball. Wednesday evening Jody Sagers and the Laurel girls of Beaver 2nd Ward went to Colleen Bradshaws home to help tie a quilt for Paula. They enjoyed the evening and Colleen served refreshments to them. Bishop Randal Bradshaw and his wife Colleen went to the Temple Saturday night. David and Janet Bradshaw went with them. They all visited Gina before they came home. Bishop and Colleen Bradshaw had Sunday dinner for their family and a friend of Paula's, Robert Greer. Joe Bradshaw from Tooele, Utah visited his parents, Collis and Verl Bradshaw on Monday. Lapriel Edwards and her daughter, Arlene and her husband Rodney Nelson of Chino, California, visited us Monday evening. The wet set Kevin and Dawni Pickard are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby girl, March 24, 1986 in the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. The grandparents are Gary and Carlie Fotheringham Pickard. Great grandparents are Harley and Vie Fotheringham. This is their first great grandchild. dinner at the Rickabaughs on Monday evening. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a good visit. It was a real home evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Moyes and their six children of Phoenix, Arizona are spending vacation at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Yardley. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Sadlier and children of California called on Pat and Kathy Yardley. They were enroute to Provo. Mr. Sadlier was a Missionary companion of Pat's when they were in New Zealand. On March 23, Michelle Diane Paice and Christopher J. Palko were married in Ely, Nevada. Michelle is the daughter of Larry J. Paice and Norma Bradshaw of Ely and granddaughter of Howard and Delia Paice, and great granddaughter of Martha D. (Mrs. Edwin) Paice of Beaver. Michelle and Christopher are both in the Army and are both stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. Family members attending the Direct from Factory Roger D. Hugh Cartwright and Will Carlon were representing the Odd Fellows in Ogden at the big convention held there. Another prisoner escaped from the County Jail on Friday evening. D. Woolsey has leased the room next door to the "Press" in the M.M. Building and will open a restaurant and bakery. it was stated, in the North, that the Utah National Guard was in excellent shape should their services be required in the Mexican campaign. They were entertained by two returned lady missionaries, Mrs. Patria Powell, who served a Mission in Australia, and her sister, Bettina Rasmusson who just returned from a Portland, Oregon Mission. Both girls gave very interesting reports, they also sang several musical numbers. Refreshments were served by Marieta Bohn and Ellen Joseph. There were 16 ladies present. Adults $39S Children 8 and under EDWARDS including "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine." Four little ones, Jody George, Suzie Gregerson, Brandy Gregerson and Sherrie Ruesch did a hula dance. Bonnie Swindlehurst was their instructress. Vickie Hutchings and Nancy George and Evelyn Warby sang "Side By Side" accompanied by Anona Yardley. Ken Barton wrote the story of Mervin Edwards and this was narrated by Von Griffiths, a son. Candice Campbell, great granddaughter gave a poem about bluebirds. John Griffiths played three original pieces on the accordian. The last number by Von Griffiths was a piano medley. Cake and ice cream were served to all the guests. Bonnie Ruesch directed and planned the evening. Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others, can not keep it from themselves. Mr. and Mrs. George Fernley celebrated their wedding anniversary with a party on Saturday evening. The Beaver I.O.O.F. was sending out invitations for a ' 'grand ball.
