That was a 5 percent increase from March 1981. Accumulated volume for the first quarter of 1982 rose to 275 million 7 percent over pounds--u- p the same period last year. Average milk production per cow remained the same as the previous year at 1,145 pounds. The average number of milk cows during March was up 5,000 head over last year, to 86,000 head. Utah farmers fed an average of 15.5 pounds of grain and concentrates per milk cow on same as April 1, 1982-t- he the previous year. The average cost of grain concentrates in Utah has gone down $.75 per hundredweight (cwt.)in the last year. in the Milk production U.S. during March totaled 11.6 billion pounds, 1 percent more than in March 1981. Mr. Erickson said that the group plans to generate active support for the Soviet - American "freeze" proposal from citizens across the beehive state. "The preliminary results from several research projects conducted with both rats and humans indicate that DMSO may interfere with the way sulindac is broken down by the body," said Dr. Frederic C. the Arthritis Foundation's senior vice president of medical affairs.
