The senior class, under the leadership of Dale Gardner, Ruby Davis and Luana Tingey began class competition by offering a dollar bond as a prize twenty-fivto the class that buys the most bonds. Dale Gardner, president of his class, stated, "We've got a job to do and a swell studentbody to back us: let's help the other classes do their part in the bond drive, but come on. Seniors, let's win that bond to help us buy our gift to the scfux)! when we leave." For the next three weeks the following classes will be in charge of the drive: freshman, juniors and sophomores. the Thursday, senior class presented a very inspiring patriotic assembly with A. C. Christensen as speaker. Other assemblies, auctions and a queen contest will be sponsored in the class competition which will continue throughout the drive. e PRINCIPAL RECEIVES N.EA. APPOINTMENT Frank Stevens, Bear River high school's principal, "has been appointed as an advisory member to the Legislative Commission of the National Education Association. His duties will be to aid in promoting the welfare of education and its contribution in winning the war and to preserve democracy and freedom following the war. Current problems to be considered by this commission are universal military training program, the project of the federal government to finance schools and the federal government to subsidize scientific research in high schools and colleges. - HUIST ENTERTAINS WITH DOG ACT international honorary society for high school journalists. The paper was approved and accepted and a charter is being sent to the school There is a possibility that a club may be organized at the school, according to Rupert Blackham, journalism instructor. Chief, King and Duke, the prodigious dogs raised and trained by Lloyd Huist of Brigham were the spechl attraction at the lyceum Monday. The unusual tricks performed by the dogs are taught in series according to the relationship of the tricks; for instance, jumping over a stick is the basic trick underlying all the other tricks.
