Six Utah high school seniors have been selected to receive scholarships to institutions of higher learndnig as dependents of Kennecott Copper Corporation employees, it was announced today to-day by Nelson W. Aldrich, director direc-tor of pu'blic relations, Utah Copper Division. This is the fourth year such scholarships have 'been .presented iby Kennecott in a program to recognize and give assistance to deserving high school graduates who are dependents of Kenmc-oott Kenmc-oott employees. The six were selected from among applicants from ten high schools throughout the area. The winners were selected on the basis of academic capabilities, leadership potential and citizen-piiiip. citizen-piiiip. The winners are: Anne Shirley Linde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Linde, 921 Blaine Ave., Salt Lake City, student of South High School. 'Sharilyn Clement, daughter of Mr. end Mrs. William H. Clement, Cle-ment, 2826 South 8700 West, Magna, student of Cyprus High School. Hugh B. Hales, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh L. Hales, 4983 West 3500 South, Salt Lake City, student stu-dent of Cyprus High School. Richard W. Sadler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace F. Sadler, 2908 South 8650 West, Magna, student of Cyprus High School. Glen E. Davies, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley G. Davies, 40 East Miller St., Murray, student of Murray High 'School. George G. Saltas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete G. Saltas, Lead Mine, Bingham Canyon, student of Bingham High School. The six winners will receive $500 scholarships to any accredited accredit-ed institution of higher Icarraing in Utah offering a baccalaureate degree and may enroll for- any course of study they desire. Scholarship committees at each high school selected three female and four male students from a-mong a-mong applicants. These wore reviewed re-viewed by a Kennecott scholarship scholar-ship committee for final selection. selec-tion. Six alternates were also named. nam-ed.
