The station, one of eight control permanent weigh-istations in the state, is manned by Sergeant Howell and four other troopers. All the men are fully qualified Utah State Highway Patrol troopers who have been trained in all phases of law enforcement. More overload citations are issued by the Peerless Checking Station than any other in the state. More n insufficient registration citations are issued than all the other stations together. Peerless station is situated geographically so it catches and regulates intrastate traffic as well as interstate traffic. The citations issued at the station are similar to those issued by highway patrolmen in that the person who receives the citation must appear in the county where the citation was issued and the revenue goes to the city and county respectively. Most citations request appearance before the Price City or Helper City court for the convenience of the person receiving the citation. Truckers who have already registered their vehicle in another state and paid personal property taxes and desire to register the vehicle in Utah may do so at the checking station. Although the license can't be validated at the station and is sent to the state capital for processing. Many truckers take advantage of the service to avoid trying to find parking space for a tractor and trailer near the court house. Computer cards filled out for truckers traveling into, through, and out of the state on mileage, special fuel or prorate basis are sent to the Utah State Tax Commission.
