When I was about five, I remember, I had a little crocheted puppy that went everywhere with me. I'd grab him by the ear wade with him throuph puddles take him to bed with me. We belonged to each other. And it was some time until I was in love with someone again the way I was with him. You yf - - . - - - MAYBE THAT ROMANCE i t r.U,. LONG-AG- v s ' i O people. In fact, I'll bet a relationship like this was tucked away in our designer's mind when she created this week's toys Mama Duck and Child. For these are the kind of S toys a child can love. I think I could fall in love with these little crocheted puppy. ducklings just as I did with that long-ag- o EASY TO MAKE FUN TO GIVE! Yes, these are colorful toys, certainly all white with black wings and orange feet and bills. And their caps and scarves are in blues and greens. Altogether they are so bright, so fresh, so friendly you want to squeeze them. And they ARE squeeze-abl- e because they're stuffed with cotton batting. (Cardboard in their feet make them stand up tall.) To make these toys you liave to bo able to increase and decrease and know the single, -- double and chain Btitches. But if yoi don't have these techniques already, they're easy to pick up. Then Mama Duck and her child . go quickly.
