Show APPOINTMENT GIVEN MILUKEN BYKENNECOH Frank R. MilMiken has been appointed executive vice president presi-dent of Kcnrtecott Copper Corporation, Corp-oration, it was announced today by Charles R. Cox, president. Mr. Mjll.kcn has served as vice president in charge of the company's com-pany's mining operations since joining Kennccolt in 1952. A 1934 graduate of Massachusetts Massachu-setts Institute of Technology with the degree of B. S. in mining engineering, en-gineering, Mr. Miil'iken remained remain-ed on additional year at the institute in-stitute as an assistant in the department de-partment of mining. He (began his professional career as a research re-search metallurgist at the zinc concentrating plant of the Peru Mining Co. in Deming, New Mex. and later became metallurgical superintendent in charge of operations op-erations of the mill and roaster there. He is well known in Salt Lake City, having spent five years cf his early career in this area. From 1936 until 1940 he was chief metallurgist cf the General Engineering Co. In this capacity he was in charge cf laboratory testing, research programs and field consulting work. lie then spent one year as experimental engineer with Kennccott's Utah Copper Division. Following this he joined the National Lead Co. as mill superintendent of tihe Maelntyre Development Division in Tahawus, New York. He progressed pro-gressed through this organization to the position of assistant manager man-ager of National Lead's Titanium Division before rejoining Kenne-CG'tt Kenne-CG'tt as vice president. In 1952 he received the Robert II. Richards award of the American Amer-ican Institute cf Mining, Metallurgical Metal-lurgical and Petroleum Engineers Engi-neers for his contributions to the minerals industry. A resident of Darien, Conn., he is a mcimlber of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical Metallurgi-cal and Petroleum Engineers, The Mining Club and the Pinnacle Pin-nacle Club of New York City, and the Wee Burn Country Club and the Noroton Yacht Club. |
