A receipt was introduced in evidence to show that Robb was carry ing 1110 in currency in a roll at his waist and another roll in a small glass jar. The 'money was deposited with the county treasurer. Original reports showed Robb had one discharged and one loaded shell in his gun. At the inquest, evidence showed he actually had 11 more shells on his person. Additional witnesses included Mr and Mrs Floyd Birch, whose ranch adjoins Robb's on the south; Ivan Pace, uncle of the slaim man, and Warren Peacock, deputy sheriff. The Birches testified that Robb seemed excited Sunday morning and was carrying a gun. He threatened Mr Birch with his weapon unless he left his (Robb's property immediately. At the time Birch was searching for a missing pig. The jury found that Pace was lawlessly shot and killed by Robb at about 9 a.m. Sunday, and that Robb died 'between 4:30 and 5 p.m. the following day from shots fired by "duly appointed officers, not felon-iously.' T HELPER FURNITURE & HARDWARE COMPANY PnONE 3 HELPER The inquests were held before City Judge S. J. Sweetring. District At torney Duane Frandsen acted for the absent county attorney, Edward She-y- a. Robb As Mental Patient Seventh district court records show Robb first was committed to the men tal hospital in February, 1941, after an unprovoked attack on a Price farmer. He subsequently was released from the institution in May, 1942. According to these records, evidences of his mental instability included hallucinations and a perse cution complex. His case was diag nosed as dementia praecox. Robb Deputy Peacock reported was a moody person who seldom associated with others and had a strong "persecution complex." He may have thought Pace was trespassing at the time, the deputy said, although Pace never once touched the Robb farm land. Robb was the son of George and Caroline Jones Robb, both dead. He is survived by several brothers and sisters and possibly an estrangefl wife. Mr Pace came to Price from Poca- tello, Ida., where he was born in 1912. He was the son of James and Carrie Francis Pace. Mr Pace, who had gained fame in sports circles as a football and bas ketball player at North Summit high school and Brigham Young university.
