They will compete against the top four teams in their league and the MondayWednesday league, for the intramural softball championship. "With a heavy deployment schedule, it was questionable whether the Rams would even field a team for the season, but the team came together and decided to give it their all," said Allen Niksich, lead-of- f any due to exercises or deployments,"games said 34th FS coach and pitcher Steve Harvey. "I don't think any of us expected to go undefeated until the last few games of the season." Of the 14 game schedule, the team won all but three games by the inning mercy rule. Ammo I proved to be the Rams toughest opponent, with the Rams winning a close final game, "We expect them to be our toughest opponent in the playoffs. We started that 15-1- game beating them pretty badly but they nung in mere in true AMMO style and almost negated our undefeated season," commented Niksich. They told me I was too old to play so I hit 4 for 4, scored three runs and threw a runner out at third from the field fence. I hope they don't look for revenge in the playoffs." The Rams have their work cut out for them going into the playoffs considering four of their players, including Harvey (sole base team player) and starting third baseman David Bohach, have deployed to compete in the Air Warrior flying exercise at Nellis AFB, Nev., and will miss the playoffs entirely. "We only hope we can continue to ride left-cent- the wave," said Wayne Patterson, first baseman and coach for the playoff team. "What has been nice about our team is we had just one base level player, so we built our team around hustle and making smart defensive plays." According to Niksich, the key to the playoffs for the Rams was playing smart and consistent. "We've made very few mental mistakes and we were very steady all year in hitting and scoring runs. We have to continue to be smart mentally. Losing key players for the playoffs will hurt us, but we want to win it for them. Hopefully, when the playoffs are over, we can say nobody d could go with the Rams." head-to-hea- Lights, music highlight Thunder Alley' (1 The Hill Bowlintr Center R1H COC : ing the face of bowling with a new style of entertainment called Thunder Alley, an Entertainment 1 and Sound Experience by MTX."
