Gen. Dale W. Thompson Jr. Ogden ALC commander Eye witness Recently I personally witnessed a police officer giving a ticket to a vehicle. Shortly after he put the ticket on the windshield, an officer walked out and tore the ticket up while the police officer was standing there. would just like to know why they'll let an officer do that, but if any of the enlisted I troops did if, we'd be cited. JFL JHI Without detailed information, the security police are unable to address this particular incident; however, tearing up the citation on the windshield does not impact the legal process. A citation is written in three copies. One copy goes to the violator, relating the violation and providing instructions on how to handle the ticket. The security police maintain one copy for their records, and the original goes to the individual's unit for action. As you see, the legal process will be carried out. e, It is too early to validate sick leave usage y JA in relation to the Compressed Work Sched- ule. If usage is up, there could be factors involved other than the perception that a reduction-in-forc- e is imminent. : The fact is no RIF is planned this year. As we due to budget cuts andor continue to down-siz- e workload reduction, we will do everything we can to minimize the impact on our work force. Sick leave will be measured and evaluated as . part of the CWS test. During evaluation, at the end of the test period, an analysis will be done before final decisions on the test will be made. Forced to pay Those of us who live in base housing to upgrade landscaping and fix up the inside of our houses, but we have to go downtown to buy our supplies. Why are there no improvement capabilities through the government to help us accomplish what we'd like to do? Sf are requested Sick call was pointed out in our staff meeting that since the 100 percent start of the schedule, sick leave across the base has been on an increase, and with the schedule on a trial basis, should this trend continue, the Compressed Work Schedule may be in jeopardy. I think the schedule has been very I think the for the base and good majority of It 5-- 49 5-- 5-- the people enjoy it. Supervision should look very closely at the possibility that individuals are using their sick leave before they are inwhich is volved in a future reduction-in-forcbefore to most certain blaming the inoccur, crease on the Compressed Work Schedule. 49 49 Our family would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to a member of the Hill AFB medical community. So many times deserving people are overlooked in the hustle and bustle of today's rushed world. We have noticed that the following individual is not only very skilled at his job, but also expresses concern for his patients under extremely busy conditions, and in a warm and pleasant manner. He never misses an opportunity to say hello or call to talk to you about a concern you may have. "Hats off" to Maj. (Dr.) Steven Princiotta at the Hill pediatric Clinic (and to his family for sharing him with people who care)! must agree that Dr. Princiotta is one of the most energetic, positive, "can-do- " people in the children are precious, and caring hospital Our for them is a sacred trust. I am proud of the quality of care Dr. Princiotta and the rest of the Pediatric Clinic provide for their patients. Keep up the good work. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to SSgt. Jeff Fields in the orthopedic clinic at the U.S. Air Force Hospital, Hill. Without special orthodics in his shoes, our son suffers from nearly unbearable leg cramps. After we arrived at Hill, we were told we would no longer be able to get them. Fields was very understanding and made it his mission to find a solution. He stuck with our situation until he solved our problem and had a new pair of orthodics ordered. We were very impressed by his concern for our son and the extra effort he made in what seemed to be an impossible situation. We are very grateful to him and want to say thanks for all his help. I realize improvements can become expensive, and to help supplement the cost, materials are furnished by the government when appropriate. Kudos Thank you for taking the time to pass on v this compliment. I am very, pleased that you find SSgt. Jeff Fields not only capable, but caring, courteous and understanding: I too extend my appreciation for a job well done. Hill AFB will soon lose one of the best doctors it has ever had Maj. Alan Christensen. I cannot say enough positive things about him as he dealt with my family and me in family practice. He goes beyond medical business; he cares for the person behind the Social Security number. Keesler AFB, Miss., will be gaining an awesome doctor and I wish him all the luck. Thank you for caring, and we will miss you, Dr. Christensen. Thank you for taking the time to pass on these positive comments about Dr. Christensen. We have a number of excellent people working at the base hospital and we have been fortunate over the past several years to count Dr. Christensen among them. We'll all miss him and I wish him well in his obstetrics residency. have a kudos would like to pass on to the Hill AFB hospital emergency room staff for the excellent care my wife received I I there. My wjfe was experiencing severe chest pains and was lying in the back seat of our car when we arrived at the ER. George Perkins immediately jumped into action, got the gurney and got my wife out of the back seat. He then took excellent care of her for the next two hours.. The staff suspected she had a heart attack .....7-351- 6 28 94 94 05 ....7-790- 6 .. 63 33 57 that any temporary to satisfy personal choice, such project which is subject to change when as landscaping, be financed by the ocmust occupants change, cupant. While I encourage improvements, please remember base housing residents are responsible only for general upkeep of the interior of the quarters and exterior grounds. Keep in mind, however, self-hel- p trash Talking Three times now we have 0 put our trash out on Monday and they come by and pick up either what they want to pick up or nothing at all. Is there something you can do to get them to pick up all our trash? The contractor has been instructed to remove all items placed at the curb on Mondays. Remember, however, the Monday picksuch as up is for disposing of large items only tree limbs, lumber, discarded furniture and appliy ances. It is not for garbage which will be picked up on regular trash day. I realize many residents do yard work on weekends; however, to maximize contract service, grass clippings should be placed out for pickup on regular trash days. If you have any questions concerning the Monday pickup, contact civil engineering's service contract section staff. Ext. k day-to-da- and they treated it as a heart attack, providing all the necessary treatment. She was eventually transferred to McKay-De- e Hospital but is home now and doing fine. The tests showed she did not have a heart attack. I would like to pass my thanks on to George Perkins, the emergency medical technician there, Dr. Grace O'Brien, who was professional, courteous and caring, and to SSgt. Rebecca Murray and SSgt. Michael Stenson. These people all deserve a pat on the back, and I'd like to see that they get it. Thanks very much for taking such good care of my family. I'm pleased to hear that your wife's illness was less serious than it first appeared. As you have personally witnessed, the people who come through the emergency room's doors could be suffering from anything from the common cold to cardiac arrest The ER staff deals in life and death situations on a daily basis and the stress can be brutal.. I add my kudos to George Perkins, Dr. Grace O'Brien, SSgt, Rebecca Murray and SSgt. Michael Stenson ... Well done! would like to send a kudos out to Capt. (Dr.) Paul Nieson and A1C Cole Register. I had a toothache and went to the emerI gency room thinking I would be treated as a second class citizen, having been retired for 15 years. They both came in and did a partial root canal on me. The service they provided was excellent and they performed above and beyond the call of duty. I appreciate that and it's good to know our Air Force cares. Thank you. Thanks for taking the time to send kudos to Capt. (Dr.) Paul Niesen and AlC Cole Register. These individuals give 110 percent all the time and will be recognized at the next dental staff meeting. |
