When General Hansen visited us before he retired, he told us that management would provide us the tools, technical orders, materials and training to do the job to the best of our ability, and I feel that management has done a good job of doing that. He also told us that if we would produce the highest quality item that we could for our customers, he would take quality inspectors off the end of the production lines; it would be a contract we would sign with our management and supervisors and there would be mutual trust. When they, dissolved the Directortate of Maintenance's quality section, they didn't have anything for those people to do. So they initiated a program this week that we feel is in violation of the PAC agreement with management. They are putting these people back on the end of the production line in MA precision measurement equipment lab division (MAKL). We're the only PMEL of all the air logistics centers that passed a recertification audit the first time with flviner colors the last time Aernsnace Guidance and Metrology Center checked us, and we're very disappointed to think that management doesn't have any more trust in us than to do that, just to justify some jobs. It's causing a lot of problems because we can't understand how they can justify modifying a contract that we signed with management. I think this is a real isolated case because I've always been able to get an appointment when I needed it and haven't had to wait. I think the hospital is doing a wonderful job with the staff they have and I appreciate all the help we get there.
