Show SERVICES FOR MRS. JACK HOUSEHOLDER HELDJHURSDAY Services 'were held yesterday afternoon (Thursday) at one o'clock o'-clock in the Bingham LDS Ward chapel for Mrs. Ruth Romania Connary Householder, 61, lifelong life-long Bingham resident who died Saturday morning, July 6 at 10:20 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was the wife of Jack Householder, Sr., Bingham deputy sheriff. Henry 'Bryce, first counselor of Bingham Ward, officiated at services. Music included two vocal selections se-lections by Joel P. Jensen and a vocal selection by R. E. Shelley of American Fork. Speakers were Clinton S. iRobison and Rev. Ada Duhigg. IWilford H. Han-is gave the opening prayer and the benediction bene-diction was given by II. F. 'Wil- cox. The family prayer pray-er at Jhe home prior to ' services was given by Eugene Eu-gene Morris. ' . . Pallbearers were John i. Creedon, Earl T. James, Ray Tatton, Arthur Cook, Marlin R. Schultz and James H. Culleton. Mrs. Household- er was born June M 4, 1896, in Bing- Householder ham Canyon, to Richard D. and Josie Rask Connary. Con-nary. She spent her early years in Lead Mine where her parents operated a dairy and used the old iLead Mine spring for a cooling milk house. It was located across and a little below where the new tunnel to the pit is now toeing driven. Their neighbors to the east were the Stringham family and old timers will remember the apple orchard that was there. Mrs. Householder's mother was a practical nurse having assisted Doctors Straup, Ray, and Flynn in many of their cases, and also had delivered babies to many of the old time residents of this community. Mrs. Householder Koinrr tha nlHpst. daughter at 141 o home at the time acted as mother of the family while her mother was out nursing. The family later moved to (Bingham where her mother continued her nursing and her father was associated with Jake Hoster and Ray Ken-ner Ken-ner in leasing. He could always make a fair day's pay from panning pan-ning gold in the Bingham creek from Leeaed Mine to the Last Chance. Her parents moved to Salt Lake City in early 1930 where they resided until their death. , , Mrs. Householder's early school ing was confined to classes held in the upstairs of the old Canyon Hall (now Canyon Motor Co.) and she appeared in many school plays in the opera house of the Canyon Hall. She was married to Mr. Householder February 18, 1918, in Salt Lake City. A charter member of the Bingham Bing-ham Firemen's Auxiliary, Mrs. Householder was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and was chaplain of Ruth Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a Relief Society teacher. tea-cher. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Jack Jr. and Boyd Householder; daughter, Mrs. June Householder iMcLeod, and one grandchild, Susan Jo Householder, all of Bingham; four sisters: Mrs. Bonnie C. Bab-bel, Bab-bel, Los Angeles; Mrs. Irene C. Leaver, Mrs. Leona C. Stuard and Mrs. Willadean C. Petersen, all of Salt Lake City, and two brothers, Raymond jConnary, Compton, Calif., and Harold Connary, Downey, Calif. Interment was in Memorial Gardens of the Valley with the grave dedication by Thomas H. McMullin. |
