Vou can say that the Liberals will be in the field with a ticket, and will win too. Wm. Farrell The Liberals are coming to their senses aa the day for election approaches. There will be three tickets in the field and the Liberals will be successful in Ogden City at least. In the city we have a majority of 000 at least You needn't think the People's party will be divided. I expect them to support one or the other of the national ' tickets. It will le anything to beat the liberal ticket. We'll nominate a ticket next Saturday night. When the election is !1 over you wont be able to tind a score of liberals who had anything to do with this national party movement W. F. Adamp, of the Utah National bank. There is one reason which appeals strongly to me why the Liberals should not disband and that of its influence on autside inveeters. I know the idea is ridiculed by some of the people interested but it is a fact that eastern people are Buspicious of the new movement They havn't any use for Utah unless they know that the Gentiles are going to run the territory. Only the other day we received a let- -' ter from an eastern man who owns property here and who said that he had heard the liberals were disbanding and saying that if it were so he would prefer to dispose of his property at once. The effect of disbanding the Liberal party will be unfavorable to every one who has made investments here and is depending on the future of the town to help him out. It will be all the worse for Ogden because Salt Lake has again proclaimed herself as a liberal city. When people come to Utah they will naturally incline toward the liberal city. W. N. Shilling I am not so ungrateful as to so soon turn my back upon an organization that has done so much for Ogden and Weber county as has the Liberal party, and I discover that every day develops the fact that there are a great many more who are thinking about the same. And I predict th tt the 4th day of August will demonstrate the fact that the Liberal party is yet a very important factor in the polit ics of Utah. Racing on the Streets. There is some unfavorable comment on the manner in which some parties make use of south Washington avenue for a race track. Several parties have made themselves conspicuous of late by driving at break neck speed along the avenue with apparent disregard of the safety of others. The mounted police ought to keep cases on these people. The World Enriched. The facilities of the present day for the production of everything that will conduce to the material welfare and comfort of mankind are almost unlimited and when Syrup of Figs was first produced the world was enriched with the only perfect laxative known, as it is the only remedy 'which is truly pleasing and refreshing to the taste and prompt and effectual to cleanse the system gently in the Spring time or, in fact, at any time and the better it is knows the more popular it becomes. A Good Thing For the Grippe. A recent number of the Albuquerque, N. B., the eminent phrenologist now at the Broom hotel, is rapidly convincing the people of Ogden and vicinity that he and his staff of surgeons and specialists are gentlemen of unquestionable ability and skill. The proofs come in the form of visible results of successful operations performed on citizens here at home, and of a nature that should satisfy any doubters. Yesterday Mr. Mads Wangsgaard, accompanied by his brother and little son Nels S. Wangsgaard, came into The Commercial office and exhibited the results of a delicate operation performed Tuesday. The little boy's right eye had been crossed since he was very young and was an apan parently hopeless deformity of otherwise bright and handsome face. Professor Windsor and his staff of surgeons operated without chloroform and with little pain succeeded in making the eye perfect. When asked if it hurt the little fellow responded "not much." Mr. Wangsgaard exclaimed fervently: "One thousand dollars wouldn't induce me to have my boy's eye as it was before we meet Professor Windsor." Several gentlemen who were in The Commercial office examined the eye closely and all were convinced that Professor Windsor and staff had performed a beautiful piece of work. This is the second case shown in our office by Professor Windsor during the last week. Professor Windsor will leave Ogden to morrow night but his staff of surgeons will remain at the Broom hotel until July 25th. Auction ! Auction ! Auction ! Every Monday.
