Thurgood A native of Syracuse, Mr. Thurgood graduated from Davis High School and attended Weber State College. He began his civil service career in 1946 at the Clearfield Naval Depot and transferred to Hill AFB in 1955. After working in the Comptroller organization for 20 years, he transferred to the Directorate of Maintenance and has worked there since 1975. In addition to his position as chief of the Industrial Products and Landing Gear Division, his experience at Hill AFB includes heading the workload and financial management branch in maintenance, in addition to cost accounting and pay and travel branches in the Comptroller organization. Additionally, he has worked for several years as a professional accountant. Mr. Thurgood has been recognized for exceptional service many times throughout his career, receiving 16 outstanding and superior performance awards, the Federal Managers Association's Achievement Award, and the Department of the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award for exceptional performance. He is an avid sportsman and has served excecu-tiv- e positions at the state and local level, including r term as state director in the Utah Wilda life Federation. Mr. Thurgood lives in Syracuse with his wife, Dolores. They have four children Douglas, Deonne, Drew and Darin and two grandchildren. Sergeant Urben is responsible for the sched nle, instruction and curriculum content of the NCO preparatory course. She was cited for her devotion to duty, high standard of performance and graduating 790 NCO students during the past 12 months Additionally, she was cited for her resourcefulness and creativity which allowed the NCO preparatory course curriculum to develop into a challenging block of instruction that motivated the students toward excellence.
