Show 8 HILL TOP TIMES Friday, April 19, 1985 police blotter 7 Vekieie w5in)dlw Sgt. 2849th By Tim Barrett Security Police Squadron Vandalism, theft and drug and alcohol abuse continued to be a problem for Security Police on Hill AFB during the week April 5-1- sEneotftfeiredl by recovered and returned to its owner. A BMX style bicycle was taken from a residence on Harrington Loop between April 7 and 8. The bicycle is valued at $150 and is described as a h bike with a chrome frame and blue wheels. A military member was apprehended.for driving under the influence of alcohol on 11th Street near the base hospital. The incident occurred on the morning of April 7 and a .17 percent blood alcohol content was recorded. A CRIMESTOP caller detected the odor of burnt marijuana in barracks 517 April 8 and contacted Security Police. A police drug detector dog was used to check the building but no drugs were found. . Security Police seized a loaded rifle and illegal drugs from a vehicle April 9. The investigation began after the south gate sentry detected the odor of alcohol on the driver at the gate. The three individuals in the vehicle were arrested and the vehicle impounded. The drugs seized included suspected cocaine. One of the individuals was released to Og-de- n City Police on an outstanding warrant. 20-inc- 1. Vandalism Other incidents The rear window of a vehicle was shattered on Roxbury Circle between 7:45 p.m. April 6 and 11:15 a.m. April 7. Damage is estimated at $150. Security Police received a report April 10 that a window at a residence on Liberty Street had been damaged. The damaged appeared to be caused by a BB gun. A garage door at a residence on Valiant Street was damaged by vandals during the .week and damages are estimated at $100. Security Police received a report of vandalism to a rental car while it was parked near Bldg. 840. The mirror was torn off durpassenger side rear-viehours of April 11. Damage the ing early morning is estimated at $50. Three juveniles were apprehended as a result of a case of reckless burning in a field area near Bldg. wsaini diesis 888. A pet was injured by a BB shot or pelleton the night of April 5. The dog, who belongs to a resident on Fourth Street, was wounded in the shoulder. A base visitor was identified by a CRIME STOP caller April 11 as being barred from base. Positive identification was made and the individual was arrested for entry after exclusion. w Thefts p 3i sizraiKi' Approximately $800 was reported stolen from a Canteen Corporation vehicle parked at Bldg 518 on April 5. A suspect vehicle was identified and the case is under investigation. A military member reported $6 in cash was taken from his wallet during an examination at the base hospital April 5. The next day, a pet chihuahua was reported stolen from a residence on Liberty Street.
