Gerald Lautenschlager from Maintenance earned his in industrial technology, and aeronautics. I always wanted to get a degree and finally started in order to stay ahead of my kids," he added. Vartan was elected national president of the 125,000-membReserve Officers Association of the United States. Formerly the ROA vice president for Air Force Affairs, he was selected by delegates attending the er 3 TiCQs CO 57th annual national convention June 24 in Salt Lake City. In accepting the position, Colonel Vartan promised to continue ROA's support of a strong national defense "to counter the Soviet threat that has not diminished." The new president graduated from Grinnell College, Iowa, in 1954. He was commissioned in the Air Force Reserve and flew for the Strategic Air Command.
