Show HILL TOP TIMES Page 16 August 13, 1982 esters csislh) By Janene T. Gandee Suggestion Program Monitor Cash awards paid to Hill employees for their adopted suggestions during July were as plentiful as summer garden vegetables. The biggest award went to Alfred R. Seager, an aircraft inspector in the Directorate of Maintenance. He suggested reducing an inspection requirement of bolt holes in nut plate channels of F-- 4 aircraft from 50 holes to two. Mr. Seager had noted that defects in this area had never been found and proposed that the particular inspection be reduced. The suggestion was adopted and technical data amended accordingly. His idea also resulted in a savings of $65,795 for the Air Force. Another high award went to TSgt. James H. Downey, an integrated avionics attack control systems technician in the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing. He received $995 for suggesting a refurbishment procedure to allow reboresighting all aircraft assigned to the wing in a realistic time frame. His suggestion increased mission effectiveness on the 6 aircraft. The third highest award of the month was given to Robert S. Dimarco, an aircraft ordnance systems mechanic in the Directorate of Maintenance. He was awarded $835 for suggesting that forward fairings repaired in the field with a "good patch" be reused on F-- 4 aircraft inboard pylons in lieu of welding and heat treat repair. This resulted in a savings to the Air Force of $26,935. Other who reaped the benefit of their suggestions were: dd odd symimieir iwoirds $482.50; Steven J. Black, two awards of $50 each; Robert F.
