The base railroad supports customers world-widshipping and receiving parts, equipment and supplies from Ogden Air Logistics Center. All of the rail movement, handling and switching on the base is accomplished by six employees of the Rail Section within the HLLTOPMES, 1S80 Page 7 bog iaaidssd maintaining rail operations on the base is important to the national defense. With the continuing energy crisis and plans for converting the base's heating system to coal fired plants, the railroad will see a dramatic increase in the workload with the receipt of additional coal and petroleum products by rail. e, Kiilllip 2 Hill . Aaron, a retired engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad, had a brief ride on the base locomotive engineered by Dale M. Rupe (center) of the Rail Operations Section. The general also accompanied Aaron to the Army Depot rail shop where they saw some overhaul work performed, the production depot maintenance line and the fllghtllne where Aaron watched horsepower take to the air.
