Employee awards Q A A While reading the Hill Top Times, I noticed the Outstanding NCO Airman column which I think is just great. I presently work with an individual who, to me, is the most outstanding person in this particular career field that I have ever met. I would like to see him receive one of these awards but my supervisor doesn't seem to want to put him in for it. Is there any way that supervisors can be made to submit employees for these awards? Supervisors of military personnel, whether military or civilian, are required to be familiar with Publications Bulletin 15, 1977, Recognition Guide for Air Force Supervisors. This publication gives specific guidance to supervisors on the different recognition programs. Supervisors cannot be forced into a position of recommending individuals for various types of recognition. However, all supervisors are highly encouraged to exhaust all means to provide adequate recognition to their employees for their greater productivity, efficiency and organizational morale. If you would care to identify your work section or whom you are speaking about, further action can be taken on this matter. Q 1TlWir?wo items are personally reviewed by either the Commander or the Vice Commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center. Remarks are recorded 24 hours a day, staffed, and a reply prepared. The theater snack bar is operated by a civilian concessionaire under a contract with the Base Exchange. The policy which prohibits patrons from bringing food and beverages into the theater from outside is the same as that in effect at most civilian theaters in the community. Its basis is that in order to have a snack bar service available in the theater for those who desire it, there must be some economic incentive to attract a concessionaire. Also, the concessionaire is required to furnish janitorial services in the theater, and it would be unfair to require him to clean up litter generated from other sources. Base bus schedules bus system. The last have a complaint on the I I time tried to take the bus was late for a meeting because the bus did not follow the posted schedule. I got there three or four minutes early and waited and waited. Another time I had to be at a meeting in the west area by 7:45 a.m. so I went to the bus stop at 7:15 thinking I would have plenty of time. It took at least 15 minutes before a bus came along and I was late for the meeting. If we are going to have a schedule for the bus runs, then let's have them be on time. If not, do away with the entire bus system. I Q Popcorn in base theater Why are patrons at the Base Theater prohibited from bringing their own popcorn into the show? All A on-ba- se impossible to maintain a shuttle schedule. However, base and TDY personnel are moved at the start of each day by positioning both a Red and Green line bus at the southwest corner of Bldg. 225 and having them start their run at 7 a.m. They make one round trip and return to Bldg. 225 at 7:40. As they depart at 7:40, two other buses leave the motor pool, the opposite end of the route, and the 20 minute schedule begins. The posted schedule at the bus stop at Bldg. 225 reflects this program. Therefore, if you were at the bus stop at 7:15, you missed the bus by 15 minutes and would not see another bus until 7:40. Spot checks of our bus service have evidenced an overall good performance but it is not perfect. The Vehicle Operations Branch(TPO, Ext. 5452) would appreciate suggestions or criticism being addressed directly to them for their action. Should you have future problems, they will be ready to help.
