Show Mav HILL TOP TIMES Page 28 19. 1978 VoyS'h Rogers twice winner GymnasiumAthletics in badminton tourney Lt. Col. Jake Rogers won the 1978 Badminton Singles Championship and teamed up with TSgt. Don Lenander to capture the 1978 Doubles Championships as well. In the doubles, coming up through the losers' bracket, Rogers and Lenander had to defeat McNabb and AlC Darrell Freeman twice to claim the championship. They did so and hail, once again, champions for '78. This is the second year in a row that Rogers has captured both titles and also the second Third place singles went to year Rogers and Lenander have teamed up as victors in Sr. Amn. Taco Hernandez; fourth place singles Lenander; third place the doubles. on his Rogers, doubles to Hernandez and SSgt. Robert Welty. Fourth place doubles went to Capt. Larry Wineteer and Maj.
