It gives me the opportunity to explain why a certain decision was made or why a particular policy was implemented. :xc My Q A Q 20C DOC question concerns the offering of pran DOC military installation. There are several options open to you. You may elect not to attend the luncheon, you may volunteer to say the prayer yourself, or you may elect to discuss the problem with the responsible supervisor whom, I am sure, will seek a satisfactory solution. If you wish, you can silently jarayaccording to your personal belief. I suggest these options because it seems to me that prayer is conducted on the employes free time. From your question, I conclude there is no officiality to it so as to involve the U.S. Government. Finally, I am sure if you requested it of the people involved, they would invite a chaplain to give the invocation; I can assure you the chaplains will be glad to respond. Commander :xc ZHXZ recently read an article in the Hill Top Times from the Judge Advocate's Office about the importance of a power of attorney. I'm in the 2952 Combat Logistics Supply Squadron and travel a good deal. Everytime I've been to the Judge Advocate's Office they try to discourage me from getting a power of attorney and tell me a thousand reasons how iny wife can rip me off while I'm TDY. Even though I only want a special power of attorney, I can see why they are concerned over my legal welfare. However, I have been married to this woman for 14 years and I feel that after asking for a power of attorney and with the proper briefing on the hazards, if I still want one, I shouldn't have to insist before I can get one. It should be noted that the Staff Judge Advocate's Office 500 powers of attorney during 1975, and to their knowledge, every client who requested one, has prepared almost received. I appreciate your comments. They will be shared with each of the attorneys performing legal assistance. Would it be possible for a sidewalk to be installed beginning at the north end of Building 100 continuing west to Parking Lot 1 that would parallel the present sidewalk next to the road? There are hundreds of people who use the present sidewalk, but it is so congested that during the summer people walk on the grass and wear a path in the lawn. Also in the winter, the snow plows cover up the present sidewalk with snow and people have to walk in the I A Q street. The pedestrian walk area along Second Street has been analyzed several times during the past year. Civil Engineers has proposed the construction of a separate passenger loading zone on the south side of Second Street north of Building 100 and the widening of the present sidewalk. Part of this walk, from "B" to "C" Street, is included in next year's road work (Project HIL The as will be part of accomplished remaining portion additional new construction west of Building 120 or as additional construction funds become available. Thanks for your concern A Thank you for your observations and for taking the time to bring them to my attention. I regret that you were made to feel unduly restricted in requesting a power of attorney. Because the general power of attorney places such broad and possibly risky powers in the grantee, the attorney has a duty to assure himself that the client understands the full impact of the grant. With this general r Oil DOC duty in mind, the extent of the counseling will vary somewhat depending upon the relationship between the grantor and grantee. In your situation with a marriage of 14 years, and having given powers of attorney to your wife on numerous previous occasions, the counseling should have been tempered accordingly. in more W. Since Building 519 is a multiple work center consisting of flight kitchen, dining hall ( serving five meals each day ) and a central baking facility, it would be very easy for someone who is not totally aware of all operations to Let me assure you that chaplains have no exclusive right to conduct prayer or to authorize prayer on a 30C In some cases, your questions might stimulate a review of or ; The only food items seen going out the back door are authorized box lunches and flight lunches or authorized feeding of the Fire Department personnel for which payment is made. It is my understanding that prayer on a military installation can only be conducted by the chaplain or authorized by him. Is this correct? I do believe in prayer, but not in their form of it.
