Show November 21, 1975 HILL TOP TIMES Page 19 Women Should Apply Immediately For Nomination To Academy Air Force Academy officials are urging qualified young women to apply immediately for appointment to the school for the Class of 1980. The academy must receive from all nominations and other Congressmen sources not later than Jan. 31, 1976 About 100-15- 0 women cadets will be accepted for the class June which begins 1976, 28, said Lt. Gen. James R. Allen, Academy Superintendent. Upon successful completion of the four years, women will receive a B.S. degree with a major in the field of their . and choice will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the Regular Air Force. Women cadets will undergo k a rigorous basic cadet training similar to the program required of men. Throughout the four-yea- r period, women will attend the six-wee- same academic classes with men to complete the prescribed courses and a major. Comparable leadership and military programs will be required. Physical education classes as well as intramural sports will be conducted primarily on a coeducational basis.
