Dee cried In anguish. But Hilda tore the cat from her. Amanda was still with them, but she was getting old. There was no one to do the things to make a little girl happy. Would Meredith help him? It took them three hours to finish shopping. At seven o'clock, Hugh's luxurious car turned on the drive of an imposing house. A little girl sat in a big chair looking lonely. She held out her arms and cried a little. "We're not going to have a Christmas tree or anything." Hugh Mallory swung his little daughter up in his arms. "Oh, yes, we are." He put her down. "This is Miss Meredith Harris, She's going to see to everything." And it was the most wonderful Christmas Dee had ever had and the most beautiful tree. The next thing Merry had been ushered out the front door. She went to her small apartment, sat down in a chlnti chair, holding the kitten. "Well, after all, it was fun even if It Is over," the confided tearfully to the cat. But it wasn't over. Two hours later Hugh Mallory knocked on her door. "I hunted through a hundred office files for your address and I found you at last." Merry was flushed. "Your sister-in-lacame back." , He nodded. "She's gone for good now. We'd had a disagreement. You see, I found she was teaching my little girl to be a snob." He broke off, tmllcd again. "Dee wants you do I. For to come back and so good. Do you understand, darling?" She was afraid to believe he'd renlly said that. But he took her hands, drew her closer. "Look, Merry, I've been searching for the neht girl for a long time. I knew I'd found her when I saw you sitting in that big chair with Dee and the cat. Oh, my dear, say you love me, say you'U marry me. Dee and I need you so." Meredith lifted her face and he read his answer In the sweet sincerity of her eyes. aX 1 : Good Will and Glowing Happiness to Men of Good Will Everywhere! ft on hearthiides bright May your hearts be merry and your this most thii happy Christmas. H Spanish Fork, Utah Dec. 14, 1950 ' Is The Place The gov ernment price support on eggs is scheduled to be removed after January 1 ,and farmers and poul trymen of the state are asking and wondering what the effect will be on the poultry industry of Utah which ranks as our leading agri cultural activity. to Clyde C. Ed- According mounds general manager of the Utah Poultry and Farmers' Coop erative and president of the As sociated Poultry and Egg Indust ries of America, the elimination of government support price on eggs is going to have very little effect. He reports that the move was anticipated some time back and the poultry industry, as a result. has set up a nation-wid- e program to boost egg consumption during the early months of 1951 as the supply of eggs usually reaches the stage of abundance. He points out: "Prices right now are at a peak. We can expect a material decline from the peak as usual as the volume of production increases ,but this is a normal trend. "Some of the marginal produc ers in the who have pro fited most from the support prices will be the first to feel the pinch and the first to be forced out of business. Utah has always produced high quality eggs that have never been sold at support levels. There has always been a market for good eggs and probably always will. As a result, we should be the last to be hurt by any seasonal decline. "We hope that with the stimulated consumption and the natural decrease in quantity that the poultry industry soon will be back on a sound economic basis of supply ana aemana.
