The day was ushered in by the carolers from the South Ward M. I. A. and the Nephi Ward M. I. A., who visited many of the homes in the City until well past midnight. Services were held in each of the wards Christmas morning under the auspices of the Sunday School, each meeting house being appropriately decorated. At the Nephl Ward a Cantata, was given, entitled "When Santa Listened In" which was great ly enjoyed by those present. This was repeated last night at the Venire to capacity house. The day was marked by a lack of that rowdyism which was evident In the years gone by when John Barley corn held sway, and to quote the words of a well known citizen here, "It was the dryest Christinas on record." IMPROVEMENTS AT COURT HOUSE An excellent Improvement has been made in the courtroom of the Courthouse the past week, in the removal of the old time benches whlrh have been replaced by a set of new opera chairs. These new chairs give the courtroom an up to date appearance on and are a derided improvment the benches. A fine new Chair lias also ben purchased for the use of the judge. With this new equipment the courtroom will compare very favorably with that of any county In the state. To Everybody Season's Greetings May all your wishes and endeavors through the coining year, he blest with fortune's smiles and favors. May the coining year he better than the best you've ever had. : i The Topoery |
