Show SECOND WARD AREA HEWS BRIEFS EDDYS Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bassett and their children, Mr. and Mrs. Kiy Bassett and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Larson and family of Nepdi and Mrs. Louisa M. Lyman had a nice Easier trip to the Oak City Canyon Saturday. They had a delicious de-licious lunch then on their way back home they stopped at the sandhills and had an enjoyable time together. The Larson family returned to their home in Nephl Saturday evening. Visiting at th? home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright this weekend was their granddaughter, Miss Gwen Theo'bald, a student at CSU in Cedar. Gwen is the daughter of Shirley and Verue Theouald of California. Mrs. Zola Wright just returned from a visit in Calif, with the Theobald family. Connie and Peggy Lovell, BYU students are spending the Easter Vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrin Lovell and family. Thursday, March 27th, the Lyric Lore Club met for their annual birthday party at the City Cafe. A delicious dinner was served to 16 members in attendance. After the dinner they all went to the home of Mrs. Eldon Eliason where they enjoyed an evening of games and fun. A birthday gift was received 'by all members. The hostesses for the party were Harriet Eliaso, Ver-na Ver-na Gardner and Mary Bassett. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brush and daughter, Jennifer, Salt Lake, were visitors during the Easter Vacation at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sorenson. Miss Carol Adams and Paul Spor students at BYU were Delta visitors this weekend with their parents. Mr. Nolan Adams, student at Dixie College was a visiter in Delta this weekend. Nolan and his fiancee, Diane Scragg rode to Salt Lake Saturday to attend Conference. Confer-ence. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Adams and Nolan's grandmother, Mrs. Sheldon, who has been very ill. Saturday a group of girls had a very good time at an Easter party and trip up Oak City Canyon and the sandhills. Miss Teresa Buchanan student at the BYU was a visitor with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Buchanan over the Easter vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Stanworth of Provo have been guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Anderson Ander-son this Easter weekend. All of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Turner were home for the Easter holiday over the weekend, Mrs. Nadine Smith and family of Springville, Utah; Miss Jane Turner Turn-er of Provo and Miss Sue and Lynn Turner of Cedar, CSU. Mrs. Smith will stay a few more days to visit iwith her parents. The other family members returned to heir schools Sunday evening. I Keith and Steven Jeffery, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Jeffery, students at Weiber College in Ogden visited with their parents this weekend. 'While here they attended the 85th birthday celebration for their grand mother, Mrs. Adaline Jeffery. They returned to Ogden Sunday evening. In meeting Sunday evening the program was given by the Seminary Semin-ary Class under the direction of Mr. Ralph Erickson. Talks were by Dorothy Delapp, Pamela Callister and Carolyn Nickle. Piano solo, by Doris Moody, song by Dorothy De-.Lapp De-.Lapp accompanied by Pam Callis-I Callis-I ter. The other music was furnished i by the 2nd Ward Youth Choir. A good crowd was in attendance. I Mr. and Mrs. Moss and three ' sons of Bountiful were visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Winegar. They attended church Sunday evening in the 2nd Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Bunker and son Brian were visitors of Gayle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bunker ! this weekend. (Ruby and Nola are sisters.) sis-ters.) Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield took Jane Williams and Margaret Bradfield to Filmore last Thursday. Sunday evening they went over and brought Margaret Bradfield toack to her home in Leamington. Mary and Ross Johnson went to Salt Lake and back Friday. Margaret Bradfield, Jane Williams Wil-liams and Laura Bradfield visited in Hinckley last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. Gerold Nielson made a business trip to Salt Lake last week. Easter weekend always brings many visitors to town and the wise ones go to the sandhills on Saturday. Raymond, Gene and Bobby Vest and their families of sait Lane area were at tne sana hills Saturday, also Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jones and children of Santi- quin were down. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins had their girls home for the weekend, Linda and Dan Sutton of Salt Lake Enla and Junior Baird and children of Richfield and Barbara Anderson ' and children of Oak City. They spent Saturday playing ball and going to the sand hills. Mr. and Mrs. Kirt Overson and children of Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Frazier and children of Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Overson and children of Blackfoot, Idaho were home with parents, Mr. and iMrs. William Overson over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Wood and children of Corrine visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Holdaway and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Nielson and children and Donna Haycock and son of Salt Lake were home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson Saturday and Sunday. Mr .and Mrs. Warren Overson and children of Kearns weer at the Keith Nielson home Sunday. Rayma and Kent Hughes spent Friday afternoon and night at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson had all their family home for Easter, Eugene and family of Salt Lake, Donald and family of Grantsville and Sandra of Cedar. Visiting with Mary Johnson and Ross over the weekend was Berdell and Connie Talbot and children of Salt Lake and Tillman Johnson ad family of Sutherland. Aunt Millie Lovell is in the Delta Hospital. Bishop Ben Stephenson attended conference in Salt Lake Sunday. Saturday Lawrence Bradfield, Kent Hughes and Don Bradfield went to Grantsville and helped Jay put in the basement forms for his new home. They accompolished so much and also had a good "father and son" visit. Jay called last night and the cement was poured, so now he can have his house set on next week. We are so happy for them. He will continue to teach school in Tooele. Joanne Oshley, Carol Denetsosie, and Dorothy Keith spent Saturday in Tooele with Jane Tree. Janet Nielson of Montezuma Creek, and Patsy and Phyllis Nielson Niel-son of BYU were home over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielson. Ken and Kit Lamb of Provo spent the weekend with grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaClead Nielson. Niel-son. I hear Hazel Sheriff has moved back to town from Orem. We wish to welcome her back. Visiting at the Phil Nielson home was Billie's mother, LaMar Huntsman Hunts-man and sister, Mrs. Rhody Roper of Eenterprise. The Junior Sunday School put on a very good Easter program Sunday morning and in Sacrament meeting Sunday night, Dan Sutton of Salt Lake and Ross Johnson were the speakers. Ross told of his experiences while in the service in Africa. I guess we live in a wonderful place. I wonder if we appreciate what we have. Lucille Nielson had her son, Leon and family of Sandy home over the weekend. Mrs. Lucille Johnson spent last week in California visiting relatives. rela-tives. John and Joan Newinski and children of Salt Lake spent Easter with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curt Johnson. Easter visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson were Mr. and Mrs. George (Rae) Tro-vato Tro-vato of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Gwen) Jackson and grandson of Nephi, and Bevan and Joy and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Larsen visited from Milford with his mother, moth-er, Myrtle Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Oxel Johnson had their daughter, Myrle Young and Activities of the M. E. Mark Johnson and girl friend of Provo visited his mothor, Elaine Johnson Sunday. David and Phyllis Lovell called from Calif, to Mr. and Mrs. Bud MccCann saying he had been made sergeant in the Air Force. SUTHERLAND DORA HOSE Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Wright and children of Brigham City were visitors visit-ors of their folks, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Owens and Janet. Varla and Elwin have just been blessed with a new little son. Mrs. Owens stayed stay-ed with them for a few days when their balby came. Also to visit with the LaVar Owens were Mrs. Gloria Morrison and son, Barry Shawn of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Madsen of Provo, owner of the Madsen Clean ers, stopped in to visit Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Johnson last week. Mr. Madsen and Mr. Johnson were shipmates on the Olmstead in World War II and were together till the end of the war. They had not seen each other in many years. Mrs. LaVell Johnson was in Salt Lake last week on business for the American Legion Auxiliary. Mr. and Mis. Bryant Jones and children are moving back to Suther land. They will occupy the former Jefferson Jones home, and former boyhood home of Bryant. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones will move to Oak City where they will make their home. Their son Rulon is remode'-ing remode'-ing a home for them and as soon as it is finished they will move it to Oak City. Their son, Sherman is helping with the foundation and sewer of their home. We will welcome wel-come Bryant and LoRayne hut hate to see Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones leave our area. They have been here for many years. Mr. Roger Ogden is home now for awhile from the service to visit with his folks Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Ogden. Mrs. Ivone Miller and son, Scottie of Beaver visited with their folks, the Ivo Ogdens last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Ogden met Mr. and Mrs. Fay DeLeeuw and children chil-dren at the Sand Dunes at Jerico Sunday. They report that it looked jlike a moving city, so many cars, , trailers, campers, etc. There were sand buggies, tote goats. horse! was so cold but they seemed not to mind the weather. Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen have moved to Elberta where they bought a home. Their son, Kay has his trailer stationed at the Ogden place where he will stay until the close of school. Mrs. Ann Hales and son, Lonnie, spent Easter with their folks, Mr. Sam Hales and Ladd. Mrs. Ruth Jones' sister, husband and children of Smithfield were visitors here over Easter. Ruth went back with them to visit with her mother who has been quite ill for a time. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sorenson were visitors of the Darrell Chr'stensens over Easter. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smith were here also Sunday. Mr. Jimmie Petersen from the service, was here for a day or two to visit with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifferd Petersen. Sherman Sher-man Petersen who was wounded in the service had been scheduled to come to Arizona where his folks are but was unable to be moved. It is not known when he will be able to come. Mr. and Mrs. (Colona Petersen) Bennett and family of Holden spent Easter with their sister, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Adams and family. Saturday then went to Joy Mountain where they all spent a happy day. Twins are included in the Bennett family, with seven other members besides the father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Clifferd Petersen have returned from Arizona here they have been for some time. Tip-potts. ....Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. will be a book report on the life and works of Irving Berlin by Mrs. Don (Darlene) Hughes. Berlin songs will be sung by a group of six high school girls to be accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Joe Moody. ....Thursday, April 24 will be the Spring Party which will Include a potluck supper at 7:00 p.m. and a musical program and games by the members from Deseret and Oasis with Mrs. Myrle Bennett and Mrs. LaVeda Bishop as the co-chairmen. Saturday, April 26 fifteen of our senior citizens are going on a trip to Valley Music Hall in Salt Lake City to hear and see Rouvaun, the great Utah singer, and a 28 piece concert orchestra conducted by Ray Martin. The oil paint ing class on Monday afternoons isfilled so an evening class has been started which will be held on Wednesdays at 7:30 p. m. with Mrs. Sterling Bennion as the instructor. A series of adult education classes class-es on Consumer Education taught by Mrs. MarGenne Rowley Home Agent have just been completed.
