Mr., and Mrs. Merrill Whitlock of Mayfield, Utah spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Whitlock. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Whitlock made a trip to Salina Tuesday. Mr. Carl Dearden made a business busi-ness trip to the Salt Lake area on Thursday. Mrs. Pat Davies took her daughter daugh-ter Tracy to Provo to have oral surgery. They returned on Tuesday. This was all a ward building fund project. The Northeast section of town helped with the party. I Teresa and Bobby Meinhardt accompanied ac-companied their grandfather, Harry Meinhardt to Holden Friday night to meet thir dad, who vas coming up from Las Vegas where he is working at the present time. The Lee Judds had several of their family together this Sunday. John and Suzanne Ashurst and two children of Monroe, also Jeddie and Elizabeth Judd and their two children. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Dearden were in attendance at the Junior Prom Friday evening at Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Richardson made a 'business trip to Cedar on Saturday. Mrs. Pat Gonder and sister, Diane Taylor were in Delta Friday. While there th?y visited with Judy Webb at the West Millard Hospital, who had a new baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Jensen took their daughter back to Spanish Fork after spending the Easter weekend in Garrison. Annette and DeLyle Bennett and three children of Rupert, Idaho spent last week with Annette's parents, the Wayne Petersens and DoLyle's brother and family, the Gale Bennetts. Congratulations to Varla and El- win Wright on the arrival of their new baby boy inOgdenlast week, another grandchild for the Rodney Wrights. Ken Damron was rushed to the hospital in Salt Lake Saturday wheer he underwent major surgery. Mrs. NaRae Petersen's brother LaVar Ellis and wife of Calif, visited visit-ed with her and family last week. LaVar has just returned from Viet Nam. The ward Easter celebration was held Saturday. In the morning the annual Easter Egg hunt was held on the church lawn, sponsored by the Hinckley Lions. Following this the ward enjoyed a party at the sandhills. Varla and Elwin Wright and 3 children, of Willard, are visiting here with their parents, the Rodney Rod-ney Wrights and the LaVar Owens. John and Rachel Wright stopped in Sundav night on their way home from Calif, where they attended Rachel's niece's wedding. Hinckley Town Board recently hosted a supper at the City Cafe for our town basketball team who won first place in the recent tournament. tour-nament. Judy and Lee Boss spent the Easter holiday with the Ray Brown family enjoying the egg hunt and sand hill party, Saturday. Mrs. Theo Ellis and children were at the Ted Dennisons for the Easter Eas-ter weekend. Parry and Jeannie Taylor and girls went to Ray Skinner's Ranch on the weekend. Mrs. Edith Hansen of Las Vegas recently returned home after visit-in? visit-in? with her daughter, Ev and Marvin Greener. Water Outlook for Southern Utah SOUTHERN UTAH: Precipltatijn during March varied considerably over the southern portion of the State with some amounts well above normal reported In the Bryce Canyan and the Cedar City-Milford City-Milford areas. Water supply forecasts fore-casts changed little from a month ago and remain very high on the upper Sevier and Virgin River basins. Spring runoff from snow-melt snow-melt will be quite high. The April-September April-September inflow to Piute Reser voir is forecast at 98,000 acre-feet j(297). 'Mrs. Alda Reeve have been quite ill recently but is better now. Teresa Meinhardt has gone homo to Salt Lake after spending the past couple of months with us. Bishop and Mrs. Leonard Palmer attended General Conference in Salt Lake Sunday. Visitors at Alice Bliss's for the Easter weekend were Raymond and Maxyne Finlinson of Covini, Calif; Calvin and Evelyn Skeem and children of Midvale; Raymond's and Maxyne's daughter, Dawn who . is now attending BYU. Dawn has recently returned from New York where she was working. Easter Day, as in oft times past, , brought no lovely spring weather i a surprise awaited those with spring fever a wintry, snowy day come Monday. I think from now on, I will just plan on Easter season sea-son as being the end of winter, not the beginning of spring. Mrs. Belva Morris attended Primary Pri-mary Conference in Salt Lake the last of the week. Bertha and George Barton drove her home and they 1 visited here for the Easter Holiday. The outlook for the Beaver River remains about the same as a month ago and April-June Inflow to Rockyford Reservoir will be around 13,500 acre-feet. Assuming normal weather conditions, 7,500 acre-feet of this flow can be expected ex-pected during May with a peak flow of 450 to 500 cfs., near mid-month, mid-month, Other peak flows in south- em Utah which are forecast are 2300-2850 cfs on the Virgin River at Virgin and 800-1050 cfs. on the Sevier River near Hatch, Utah. I Heavy winter rains and snows in southwest Utah have created a situation in western Iron County unparalleled In recent history. The two reservoirs above Enterprise were already full and a week of warm weather beginning late in March melted the heavy Intermediate Inter-mediate snow pack above the reservoir res-ervoir end on the adjacent watershed water-shed of Shoal Creek. The reservoirs overflowed and combined with high runoff from Shoal Creek ar3 causing flooding of thousands of acres of farmland in the Beryl area. The train on which the Delta group were riding Saturday night, U. P. No. 5, was Involved in an unusual accident. It hit a boat, at Nipton, Calif., in theMojave Desert 5G miles beyond Las Vegas. La Vonne reports that the train was running quite fast at the time. The boat was on a trailer pulled by a truck. The truck driver beat the train to the crossing, but toy a margin too slight to get the trailer across. The boat was demolished, but no one was Injured. NAMED TO HONOR ROLL Mr. Ralph Smith of Delta, Utah, is one of 82 students placed on the winter quarter honor roll at Utah Technical College at Provo, announced an-nounced Mr. Erschel E. Shepherd, scholarship and standards committee commit-tee chairman. Mr. Smith is enrolled in a two-year two-year program in electronics at the college. Students receiving honor roil status must achieve an average grade point of 3.7 of A-minus to qualify as an honor student.
