Thursday, July 13, 1967 OAK CITY MACEL ANDERSON Mr. and Mrs. Reed Talbot of St. George were here for the Talbot reunion last week and spent a fw days visiting Mrs. Mae H. Shipley, Ship-ley, Irene's mother. Kerniece and Dell Harding were camping in the canyon and called to visit their mother, Mrs. Don Anderson. An-derson. Levern Anderson has been visiting her folks the past two weeks and left Sunday to stay with her sister, Maurine Widdison and family, who are moving to Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Max Bennett and family visited a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson. They left their son to visit a little longer with his grandparents Mrs. Ardyce Rogers spent the week in Salt Lake with her sister, Margo, who was down for the 4th of July. She returned for the week end. Mrs. Leona East returned to her home Wednesday after spending a few days in Salt Lake with her dau ghter, Betsy and family. Don and Levern Anderson visited Wednesday in Kanosh. Don and his son, Don, Jr., took a little trip over into Wayne County to see to busi ness and enjoy the country a little. Thursday, Don, Ruth, and Levern visited at Holden and Kanosh. They stopped to have lunch and Ruth cut her fingers so badly she had to have stitches taken in one. Mrs. Viola Walker was in Ogden Thursday and Friday, where she had a checkup with her doctor and visited her daughter, Margaret and returned home Saturday morning. EIRue AUdredge had plastic surgery sur-gery on her face Thursday. They learned she had broken her jaw bone also in the accident. She is recovering as well as can be expected, expec-ted, Mrs. Margaret Roper went camping camp-ing with her family Monday and came back on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pratt were In Provo Wednesday and Sataurday for therapy treatments. They spent Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday visiting their children in the northern part of the state. The fourth of July was celebrated celebra-ted in a big way. They had flag raising ceremonies at sunrise. I was too lazy to get out that early for the occasion, but we heard plenty of noise with the salute. A lovely program was presented to the public pub-lic at eleven o'clock. The Scouts advanced the colors. Austin Lovell was Master of Ceremonies. Mason Finlinson played a piano selection, vocal solos by Paul Anderson. The Jacobson family, Jewel, LaRee, Joyce Joy-ce and Peter played a lovely num-br, num-br, Ken Finlinson was the orator and did a fine job with an Indepen dence Day speech. Bryant and Marion Mar-ion Ray Anderson sang a song and accompanied themselves on their guitars and were encored.. Venice Lovell gave an original reading. Then the male quartet sang three especially good numbers. It was a lot of very good talent displayed. We are indeed fortunate to have so many talented people in our little town. After lunch, which was sold by the MIA for the building fund, sports started at two p.m. They had lots of races of various kinds and a women's ball game, horse races, then the men played ball. We really had a full day and topped off with a picture show at the cultural hall at night. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roper of Caliente, Nev., spent the fourth with the Clarence Nielsons and Wil ford Sheriffs. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Finlinson of Provo visited their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson and family. Mr. Wilbert Anderson of Salt Lake camped in the canyon. Wilbur joined us In our program. Mr. Andy Mikesell visited at the Maiben Jacobson home over the weekend and holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Buchanan and sons visited several days with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Jacobson. Thelma Howes and husband and family of Ogden visited their folks, Mr and Mrs. Clarence Nielson over the weekend and the fourth. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson and family of Lynndyl joined with us in our celebration as did Mr., and Mrs. Jay Atkinson of Delta. Sharon Stanworth of Mills spent the day with her friend, Mrs. Bruce Lovell. They were' Delta hospital roommates. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson cele brated thir Golden Wedding ad versary Saturday evening with open house and a dance at the cultural hall. The ladies wore beautiful corsages and the men boutonnieres. In the line with Eldon and Alice were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Bryce (Edith) Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. John (Genevieve) La Fevre and Mr. and .Mrs. Fred Anderson. Their grandchildren gave most of the program with their musical ability. Tributes were given by brothers of Eldon, Don L. and Elmer Anderson, with Dean as Master of Ceremonies. A lovely cake adorned the lace covered table. The cake was white and gold with white and gold can-dels. can-dels. Many friends came to enjoy the evening with them. Alice's sisters sis-ters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Pace and Mr. nd Mrs. Tom Muir of Beaver. Mrs. Genevieve LaFevre and children will visit a week with her parents before returning to her home in Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Malen Mecham are visiting from Tropic with Lulu and Clark Lovell and attended the Golden Gol-den Wedding. Their niece, Carol Ann Briggs of Manilla is also visiting visit-ing at their home. Don Harris is visiting from Salt Lake with his father and sisters, Mrs. Earl Harris, Dianne and Gene and their children. Mrs. Blanchard had a surprise visit, about 10 o'clock Friday from HINCKLEY ELAINE HARDY Mrs. Vi Robinson has had Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Eyre of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Memmott with her this week. The Howrrd Blakes moved into their home here from Delta this week. We are happy to have them. Marion and Faun Dillenbeek returned re-turned home the latter part of the week after a Calif, vacation. Their grandson, Marion Talbot, accompanied accomp-anied them. They visited in Baldwin Bald-win Park with Faun's brother, Wallace Wal-lace Cahoon. In Los Angeles they attended the wedding of a neice, Susie Shirley. At Newhall, a family fam-ily party of about 40 members got together. On the way home they attended a musical show in Las Vegas. The Lowell Petersons have some of their grandchildren staying with them this week. VeAnn Draper of Draper visited Saturday with her sister, Valyn Dutson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick went to Salt Lake, Friday, then on down to Richfield, where Waldo had business. The Ren Taylors and Ralph spent the fourth and did some fishing at Kanosh and Fillmore. A new little granddaughter for the Doug Spencers is the happy news from Dwight and Claire AUdredge AUd-redge in Ft. Carson, Colo. This is the first grandchild so all are extra thrilled. She was born Friday, July 7 and weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. Dorothy and son Ronald left Hinckley to drive to Colo, to see the new baby and family. The family of Fannie Lee Hilton met at the home of Fannie's son, Harlan at Orem, for a family reunion re-union a week ago last Sunday. 33 members were present. Attending were: Fannie Lee and Jim Christen sen (lone) and family of Hinckley; Harlan and Opal Hilton and family; fam-ily; Ross and Valeda Hilton and family of Orem; Lawrence and Gloria and family of Salt Lake; Lula and Mont Henrickson and family of Washington (who had been visiting with Fannie at Hinckley). Hinck-ley). A dinner and program were enjoyed during the afternoon and evening. Melba and Don Mcintosh from Provo visited with relatives this past week. Elaine Hardy was in Fillmore on the afternoon of the Fourth to assist as-sist some students in numbers on the talent show held there. The Raymond (Dorthy) Robinson family and the Loon (Sherry) Lewis family of Salt Lake visited at the Wesley Morris home and other relatives rel-atives and friends for the 4th holiday. holi-day. Ray and Beverly Bishop of Provo visited this week. Ray came for the Record Hop in Hinckley where he was the disc jockey and did a fine job as usual. Mrs. Elva Skeem left the first of the week to go to Cedar where she will attend four weeks of summer school at CSU. Bill Pratt returned home this week for a few clays. Mrs. Enid Damron, Mrs. Marge Judd and Mrs. Erma Cropper attend ed the presentation of the Shakespearean Shake-spearean play, KING LEAR, at the her grandson, Dale Lish and his wife, Barbara, and their children, Alan, Bruce and Cynthia, of Orange ville, Calif. They had been vacationing vaca-tioning at Moab and were on their way to Calleo where they would visit Barbara's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd. They brought Mrs. Blan chard a gift of 1 trinple combination combina-tion book. The gift and visit " very much appreciated and enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Jay Webb are back from their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Peterson have been on vacation with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Vem Nielson and fam ily after spending a few days at Yellowstone Nat'l Park. The Whiteford Sheriff reunion was held in Oak City Canyon at the resort Saturday. A large number of the family were present, also honor ed guests from South Carolina, cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Oliee Bolding. Dinner, games and softball and a fine program were enjoyed by all. A "cooky barrel" was a highlight and enjoyed by children ana grown ups alike. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Lovell and children of Granger visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Jacobson are enjoying a visit from their grandson, grand-son, Clark Brunson, who has recently recent-ly returned from a mission. Mrs. Edwin Pace of Beaver is visit ing a few days with her daughter, Erma and Alden Nielson and family and her sister, Mrs. Eldon Anderson. Mr. John Wright, a brother of Genevive Christensen of Washington, Washing-ton, D.C. and a brother, Chester Wright and wife visited the Chris-tensens Chris-tensens Sunday afternoon. Karen and Christine Henrie of Panpuiteh, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Kieth Henrie, spent the week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Christensen. Their par ents came for them Saturday and returned Sunday. Mrs. Ardella Sprong who has been visiting from New York with her parents, left Saturday. She will visit awhile in Ogden before returning to her home Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Sheriff hart their grandchildren, Kendall and Kathy Olson of Ogden visiting for a week with them. Friday their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Olson came to take them home. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sheiiff of Tooele also spent the weekend with their parents. par-ents. Monday, the Karl Workmans visited with the Willard Hardys at Spanish Fork. They went on to Provo to spend the 4th with Arvil-la's Arvil-la's parents, the Wm. M. Jaeobsens. Monday evening they visited in Orem with Arvilla's brother, Bill Jacobsen, who recently had surgery on his right arm. Tuesday evening the family enjoyed the beautiful parade, then met at Leona Pope's to welcome her daughter, Arlene's husband into the family. Later Karl and Arvilla took her parents for a drive over the Alpine Loop. They visited with Dave and Elva Stevens md Marie Thorton and family at Pleasant Grove. Several Cases of flu have been reported in town the past week. The Town Board urges every family to get their yards cleaned up in preparation for our 24th of July celebration. Let's present a clean picture to visitors! Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick were in Provo Sunday to see the new little grandson born July 5th to Grace and Marvin Smith. He weighed seven pounds. Saturday, Lillian and Ren Taylor and Ralph attended a family reunion reu-nion in Salt Lake of Ren's father's family, the descendents of John Henry Taylor. The two brothers and two sisters of Ren's and their families fam-ilies were there, 77 in all. It was held at Draper Park and Ren said they had a wonderful time. Mrs. Dorothy Spencer has hed Mrs. .Dorothy Spencer has had with her this week, Henry and Mona Listor of Cedar. Friday, the Listers and Dorothy drove to Salt Lake. Marie and Dick Thorton and fam ily of Pleasant Grove visited with friends and relatives Saturday and Sunday. Marie is the daughter of Elva and Dave Stevens, formerly of Hinckley, and a sister of Clyde Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris went to Salt Lake overthe weekend. They brought Casey Morris, son of the Joe Morrises home with them Sun day night. Casey had spent a week with Sherry and Leon Lewis. Rayola and Leland Peterson and daughter, Mary Lynn, and Kevin Robinson, son of Argene Robinson, of Walla Walla, Wash., arrived in Hinckley Saturday. Rayola and Le-land Le-land went on to Las Vegas for several sev-eral days and Kevin and Mary Lynn are staying here with Vi until they return. Mr. and Mis. Wayne Petersen went to Salt Lake Monday where Thora will undergo major surgery. Mrs. Zola Bunker has had all of her children here. They had a family dinner together at Boyd's and then spent the evening in Hinckley at Zola's. Mrs. Eva Dean Moody and son, Dean went to Provo Monday night to meet their cousin, Karen Loch-head Loch-head of St. Louis, Missouri. Karen came by bus from Chicago. Mrs. Wilkins left for Weiser Idaho, where she met her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wilkins of San Jose, Calif. While in Weiser, Mrs. Wilkins received word of the death of Mrs. Florence Lee.
