Taylor were married Dec. 20, 1963 In the Manti LDS. Temple by Reed All-red. All-red. The new Mrs. Taylor is the former Margaret Kay Sanderson, daugh.er of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Sanderson of Delta. The bridegroom's bride-groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Taylor, also of Delta. A wedding reception honoring the young couple was held at the Deseret Stake House, Saturday,' Dec. 28. The bride was lovely in a gown of satin brocade with long lily-point lily-point sleeves, and featured a pearl midriff, Co'bochon rose and chapel train. Her shoulder-length veil of sheerest illusion fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet bou-quet of long stemmed red roses. Sandra Lee Bishop served her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids Brides-maids were Rosemary and Patricia Sanderson, s sters of the bride, Jeannie and Judy Taylor, sisters of the groom and Velma Kay Odean. They wore identical models of Emerald Em-erald green brocade taffeta. Each wore a bridesmaid's crown of matching mat-ching brocade taffeta and nylon veiling. Their accessories were all white and each carried a giant wh te long stemmed mum. Sherrie Taylor, the petite Lower girl and sister of the groom, wore a dress of gold brocade satin and carried a white basket of mums. Mo. hers of the bride and groom wore gowns of gold brocade satin and a bouquet of white roses. David Taylor was best man for his brother. Renee Stephenson was at the guest book. Assisting with g fts were Diane Pace, Elsie Mc-Cullough Mc-Cullough and Noreen Reeves. Geri Ashby served- at the punch bowl. Mas er of ceremonies was Howard Clayton. The Sutherland Church was f iled londay for the funeral of Peter 'ohnson. Our sympathy is with the family and Mrs. Johnson who will be very lonely, although her family will be very kind to her I know. It was nice to have Lester and Betty Johnson call, on us Wednesday Wednes-day evening. We enjoyed their visit very much. I read in a Salt Lake paper Sunday Sun-day that our old neighbor in Cen-terville, Cen-terville, Mrs. Coombs celebrated her 100th birthday Sunday. What a dear wonderful lady .she is. She is the first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Elden Carter of Span sh Fork and makes number eight for us. Mrs.' Ilo Forster returned home from a visit In IH'nois with Dr. and Mrs. Merlin Forster and family at Urbana. Dr. Forster is with the De lartment of Modern Languages at he University of IH'nois, in Champaign, Cham-paign, 111. During her slay in Illinois Mrs ?orster visited Nauvoo and Carth- gain after spending a month in West Jordan with her son Ted Lar-gent Lar-gent and family, and helping care for a new granddaughter. Mr. and Mrs. MeWin Mitchell spent Saturday and Sunday visiting in Salt Lake and West Jordan witn their children. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hare visited Mr. and Mrs. Neil Forster in Bountiful. Boun-tiful. While I was in Salt Lake I visited visit-ed with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Fortter and children. Also had a nice visit with Jeannine Hart and saw Mrs. Leeland ' (Leslie) Hansen. Merrill is enrolled in barber school in Salt Lake starting his training Monday, Jan.- 27th.' The ruins of the .auvoo Temple, which was destroy I ed by fire in 1848, have recently been excavated by students of the University of Sou .hern Illinois.. The Carthage Jail, in Carthage, 111., now belongs to, and has been restored by the LDS Church. This is where Joseph and Hyrum Smith met their deaths at the hands of an angry mob in 1844. The building build-ing now stands as it was at that time and an impressive Bureau of Information building of matching stone has been buiit nearby. The jail is of unbelievably stout construction of walls of stone, two feet thick; jois.s and beams of solid, handhewn hardwood, and flooring of hardwood one and one half inches thick. In keeping with the period there is no heat In the building except fire places and no lighting other than candles.
