BISHOP licception Honors The Manti Temple was the setting set-ting for the marriage of Sandra Lee Sanderson and Eccles R. Bishop, solemnized Thursday,, February 23. The ceremony was performed by Bent Peterson, Temple President. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Leland Sanderson of Delta and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bishop of Hinckley. I The new Mr. and Mrs. Bishop were honored at a wedding reception recep-tion Friday night, Feb. 24, at Des-eret Des-eret House. The bride was lovely in a floor-length floor-length gown of embroidered tulle over taffeta, styled with a bouffant bouf-fant skirt and molded bodice with a scalloped neckline and sleeves tapered to a point at the wrist. Her fingertip veil of tulle was caught to a tiara. Her bouquet was of pink rosebuds and lillies of the valley. Attending the bride were her sisters, Karen Talbot, as matron) of honor, and Margaret Sanderson as maid of honor. Rosemary Sanderson, Sander-son, a sister of the bride, and Barbara Bar-bara and Mary Ellis Bishop, sisters of the bridegroom, were brides maids. All were gowned in identical identi-cal pale aqua sheaths of embroidered embroid-ered taffeta, and wore peppermint carnation corsages. Patricia Gayle Sanderson, sister of the ' bride, was flower girl, dressed in aqua crystalline and carrying car-rying flowers identical to the other attendants. The bride's mother wore lilac chiffon with a corsage of pale pink roses. The mother of the bridegroom bride-groom wore a light green satin with a corsage of deep pink roses. Karolyn Ivie, Linda Law, Diane Di-ane Pace and Elsie McCullough were in charge of gifts assisted by Dennis Davis, Randy and Kerry Allen. Ethel Stewart, Betty Dalton and Bee Willden were in charge of serving, serv-ing, assisted by Jean Ashby, Betty Van, Susan Lake, Marva Ogden and Mary Ellen Anderson. Vern Christiansen was master of cedemonies for the program, which consisted of a song by Diane Lovell, tribute to the bridal couple by Ar-da Ar-da Davis; song by Shirley Roper, an original dance by Barbara1 Bishop, Bish-op, and a song by Karen Talbot. Mr. Bishop and his bride gave short talks, then! danced the bridal waltz. They were joined by the bridal bri-dal party and partners. The hall was 'beautifully decorated. decorat-ed. Large baskets of flowers stood on each side of the tiered wedding cake. A trellis of flowers and candelabra can-delabra made a beautiful background back-ground for the receiving line. Two large entwined hearts, inscribed Sandra and Eccles, stood at one side. The serving tables were decorated decorat-ed with cleverly arranged centerpieces center-pieces of hearts, bells and lilies-of-the-valley. After a short honeymoon trip the new Mr. and Mrs. Bishop have returned to make a home temporarilly in Hinckley. SHOP JIT HOME SHOP WITH THE ADVERTISERS ASSN. OF UTAH &rciJ Wedding Vows February 23 Miss Colleen Bringard and George Eoundy exchanged wedding vows Saturday, Feb. 25. The ceremony was performed by Ned Church at 8 o'clock ia the evening1 in the Relief Re-lief Society room at Delta First Ward before members of the families fam-ilies and close friends. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bringard and Mr. George Roundy, of Delta. For her wedding the bride was lovely in her gown of white nylon tulle over taffeta forming the fitted bodice and full, floor-length skirt. A lace overdress, with sweetheart neckline, tapered sleeves and bouffant bouf-fant skirt enhanced the ensemble. MR. AND MRS. West Millnrtl i Federates Fine Arts Guild West Millard Fine Arts Guild was organized Thursday, March 9, under the direction of Mrs. C. R. Lomax, president, Utah Federation of Women's Clubs. Officers elected were Dorothy Hansen, president; Verna Walch, vice president, and Joyce Long, secretary. Mrs. Lomax discussed the advantages advan-tages of belonging to a Federated club, being able to draw upon their vas'j library and resources for programs pro-grams and information. The purpose of the club organization organi-zation is to enrich the community by stimulating cultural growth and appreciation. It is not intended to compete with existing clubs, but to supplement them. Outstanding programs planned for the coming year include a play next spring from College of Southern South-ern Utah. Admissions would be charged for this event, but other colleges would send programs for transportation costs only, which would be paid for from the club treasury. Also local talent will be used. As tentatively planned, meetings will be held at 4 p.m. once a month. Yearly dues are 3.50. There will be a meeting Wednesday, Wednes-day, March 22, at 4 p.m., in Delta Second Ward Relief Society room, when these matters, by-laws, election elec-tion of remaining officers and discussion dis-cussion of next year's programs will be discussed. Many attempts to organize a Federated Fine Arta Club in Delta havd been made before. The earliest earl-iest effort discovered by the new club was made by Mrs. Norma Wright 25 years ago. Now that the organization has been effected officers of the new club urge all to support the Fine Arts Guild. There are 32 members to date, and membership is unlimited. un-limited. An invitation is exteaied especially to those from outlying areas. Membership is open to all women oM8 years of age and over. In attendance at the organization meeting were Inez Moody, Thelma Black. Agnes Allen. Helen Warner, Loa Black, Verna Walch, Nell Cal-lister. Cal-lister. Louise Lyman, Joyce Long, Dorothy Hansen, Hannah Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Black and young sons, Ronnie and Michael, of Coalville, arrived in Delta Tuesday. Tues-day. Their sons will visit grandmothers, grand-mothers, Mrs. Ella Elack, and Mra Sibrina Ekins, while Keitrt and Kathtyn are in Provo for the Gass B basketball tournament. Attendants to the bride were Mrs. Novella Thayer, matron of honor, LaWana Peterson, Louise Bringard, bridesmaids, and Pamela Bringard, Karen Tolley and Debra Lowder, junior bridesmaids. They were gowned in pastel shades and carried car-ried bouquets of pink and white carnations. Parley Roundy performed best man duties forf his brother. A tea honored the bride on Saturday Sat-urday afternoon before her wedding, wedd-ing, and the couple deeply appreciates appre-ciates the many lovely gifts and best wishes received. J ' 3 I f f.V I - i 3iarriage Vows Made February 27 Mr. and Mrs. LcRoy Steele, of Boulder City, Nev., (former residents resi-dents of Delta, Utah) announce the marriage of their daughter, Barbara Jean, to John A. Barlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Barlow of Boulder City. The young couple was united in marriage by Bishop Bert Whitney of the Latter-day Saints Church. Feb. 27, 19G1. Barbara Jean is a graduate of Delta High School, and attended College of Southern Utah. Since, INVITE HUSBANDS Djlta Third Ward Relief Society invite their husbands to attend their March 17 annual social at Third Ward recreation hall Friday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. Dinner and a program will be featured. Fidelity Club Members of the Fidelity Club met at their regular meeting Thursday, March 9. Dinner was served at Hatch's City Cafe. After dinner the group went to the home of Gertrude Ger-trude Western who w-as hostess for Thelma Seegmiller. . Those present were Leatha Bennett, Ben-nett, Romania Bird, Ella Black, Thelma Black, Dorothy Gardner, Ora Gardner, Verna Gardner, Vivian Vivi-an Holman, Arte Henderson, Hannah Han-nah Larsen, Inez Moody, Pearl Snow, Ava Starley, Zola Wright. A guest was Bernice Western. Ora Gardner was leader and gave writings of Ernie Pyle, which was very interesting. Helen Mar McCullough D. U. P. Camp will meet Friday, at 2:30 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Ella Black, in Delta. Co-hostesses will be Mrs. Angie Cahoon and Mrs. La Verne Theobald. j Mr. and Mrs( W. J. Starley made j a weekend visit in Cedar City with i their daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Leo Cahoon and family. Mrs. Nell Watson made the trip with them and visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barney and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wells Wood returned re-turned to Delta Sunday from a week in California, where they visited vis-ited their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wood, and daughters, Sherrie, 2 years old, and Terri, 2Vj months, at Long Beach. With them for the trip were their daughter, daugh-ter, Reliance Wood and friend, Gerri Byington, of Salt Lake City. They were returning to their, home at Caliente, Nev., from a stay of several days in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gardner and .young son, Dale and brother, Paul Roundy, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend in Delta with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner. COMMUNITY CHURCH SERVICE Services will be held in the Delta Community Church Sunday, March 19, at 11 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bush, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Goodman of Wasatch Wa-satch Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City will motor to Delta Sunday Sun-day morning. Services will be conducted by Mr. Leon Bush. Mrs. Margaret Bush will be the pianist and sing a solo. Covered dish dinner will be served in the dining room following 1 church. ? 1 V f J JOHN A. BARLOW she has resided in Boulder City with her parents. Mr. Barlow is a graduate of Boulder Boul-der City High,, attended one year at the University of Nevada at Reno. He was in the U. S. Army for three years, spending two of them in Germany. He is now working work-ing for the United States Post Office. After returning from their honeymoon honey-moon the newly-weds will make their home at the Brown Derby ! Trailer Park, at Boulder City. MISS CLYDENE SALMON June Weddina Plans Announced Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Salmon of Coalville announce the engagement of their daughter, Clydene to Max C. Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam E. Black of Delta. The marriage mar-riage will take place early in June. Miss Salmon, a student at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City will graduate in June. She is a member of the Apha Iota So rority. Mr. Black is a senior student at the University of Utah. He fulfilled a mission for the Latter-day Saint Church in the Southern States. Next party will be held at Lula Warnicks, March 23rd. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Beckstead, Deltans for many years, moved during the past week to Magna, Utah, where they will make their home.
