A big family dinner din-ner was held at Hatch's City Cafe on Saturday night. All his children were here. His daughter, Edna and husband left today to return to their home in California. The whole town thinks a lot of brother Western West-ern and wish him much joy and happiness in the coming years. Ralph Conk and daughter from Kearns visited with relatives and friends here on Saturday. The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing was under the direction of High Councilman Leslie Bennett who also al-so attended Sunday School here. As he Is also principal of the Delta High School he brought talent from the school with him. The talks were given by Pamela Robinson, Jerj Hale and brother Bennett. A group of girls under the direction of the music teacher, Mr. Long sang four beautiful numbers with solo parts being sung by Karen Moody, Glen- Bende and . . A J .... landenie i Several years ago, I made a promise pro-mise to myself that I'm finding harder to keep every day. When we were first married, I noticed one of our neighbors in Memphis, Tenn. hanging out her towels without a da Memmott and Barbara Crafts. The girls accompanying the singing sing-ing at the piano were Annette Moody, Elsie McCullough, Norene Reeve and Zelma Jensen. It was a really inspiring meeting. The talks were real good and the singing sing-ing very lovely. An exceptionally large crowd was in attendance, a large number from our own ward and many visitors from others wards. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Damron on Sunday were Gerald Damron and sons, Dennis Den-nis and Gene. Mrs. Leslie Hales spent Saturday in Nephi to help her sister, Ethel Mathews celebrate her birthday, clothespin in the middle. This was rather horrifying to me, as the towels were all beautiful new fluffy ones and there were hanging out and sagging in the middle! This new bride made the promise to herself her-self that she would always use three clothespins in one towel to prevent that sagging and I've always al-ways done just that. But, the years have slipped by and I'm finally realizing that it's wasted effort. I still hang out towels with that middle clothespin and (to me) they do look pretty on the line, but as the family gets older, it takes more towels and sometimes they are in the drawer all of ten minutes before they are used again. Then they are ready for the washing machine and to be (or not to be) hung with three clothespins! besides the new bride is not so new anymore and has finally wised up to the fact that three clothespins in one towel has Pledge of Allegiance with the phrase "under God" without looking look-ing at my neighbor to see just when it is supposed to be said! There are two ways for sure to tell that Spring is on the way by looking' at the calendar and at my feet. If my feet are bare or I've got a pair of thongs or (as I have for the last two days) it means that this ol' Arkansas cotton-picker has worn shoes for seven months and instinct tells her to kick them off! Spring is near. (And to Phyllis Munster, Phyllis, are we, or are we not going to wear shorts this summer???? sum-mer???? Do you think we are too old or JUST RIGHT? Come in some day and we'll decide this important matter. If you think that shorts are in order for us again this summer, then I'd better get with the. sewing sew-ing machine. Golly, doesn't that sound fun? Not the sewine ma- ' chine. Buster, wearing shorts.) Joe Gordon tells me that he believes be-lieves that no experience is quite like the one a young soldier experiences ex-periences when he is boarding ship his first time.
