Show Millard County Chronicle Oak City News MRS. MAE Elder Don T. Harris arrived home Friday night, from the North West ern States Mission, after two years labor there. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. Harris and Mr. and Mrs. John DeLapp, went to Oregon to get him. They had a very lovely trip and also, enjoyed a visit with Earl's and Silvia's daughter, Diane and new baby and family. We are happy to welcome Don home a-gain. a-gain. Elder Don Harris reported his mission Sunday evening at Sacrament Sacra-ment Meeting, to a very large crowd. His report was very interesting. inter-esting. Out of town relatives that attended the meeting were: Mr. and Mrs. John DeLapp and children, child-ren, Mr. and Mrs. Jaff Jones, and Mrs. Marilyn Stoddard. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Torrens, (Janet Flnlinson) have returned to his base in Alabama. They left Tuesday morning, after two week's visit in Oak City and Deseret. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson had all their children but Janet, home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Anderson and family, from Ely, Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. John Morrey Anderson and family from Kearns, and Mr. and Mrs. Malcom Stephenson, from Salt Lake City. The MIA had a talent show last Tuesday night, following the class work, which was very good. Mrs. Eldonna Anderson was in charge of the program. Beehive girls and scouts had a skit of a bus ride. It was a very good program and quite a few were out to enjoy it. Stake visitors were Norda Roper and Reed Tippetts. Mrs. Mae H. Shipley spent a few days, visiting in Salt Lake with children, Eetty and Wesley and families; also, at Mapleton with son, Lee and family. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Christensen and family, spent Saturday and Sunday in Oak City, from Provo. Glen still has the cast on his right leg, from the car wreck he was' in the -last of July. Mrs. Molly Anderson had her uncle, Ed Higbee, from Salt Lake City, visit here Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson and children, and Mrs. Eldon Anderson, were visitors in Tropic a couple of days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Nielson and children, and Mr. John L. Nielson, visited in Milford last weekend, with the Alden Nielson family. Last Saturday, Mrs. Chloe Alld-redge Alld-redge had her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Woods and her brother, Valoran Russell -and wife, visit from Salt Lake, and on Monday her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Thorpe, visit a few days. Last Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Ed-die Jacobson celebrated her birthday birth-day in Park City, at the home of their daughter, Arvilla. Their son, Orlan and family from Ogden, were also there to celebrate with them. Mrs. Ruth Steele and Mrs. Charles Jensen accompanied Mr. Charles Jensen to Provo Friday where he is hospitalized at the Utah Valley Hospital for observation. Mrs. Steele stayed with her brother, Auer and family, while there and returned to Delta Monday. Mrs. Jensen is still in Provo. At last account ac-count Mr. Jensen was feeling better. bet-ter. Mrs. Verl Jensen and two daughters daugh-ters left Delta Tuesday for Salt Lake where they left for Anchorage Alaska Wednesday. Mrs. Jensen and daughters will join her husband, Lt. Jensen in Anchorage Where he is stationed. Miss Mary Peterson, Salt Lake City, visited the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Wanda Beckwith ,and children, Susan, Jane, Deborah and Collins. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Nelson drove to St. George Friday, where they are visiting daughters, Glena and Janet and families. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Quarnberg, visited vis-ited Mr. and Mrs. JBurton Hanson this week. Visitors at the Randal Bradfield home over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sherwood and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Bradfield and boys. Mrs. Jean Bradfield drove to Fillmore Fill-more Sunday, to visit her parents. Mr. Seegmiller and Joe Barney of Delta, visited Leamington Sunday Sun-day School; also, Mrs. Zerma Schlappi and E. M. Moody, Sunday School stake officers. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dutson also attended the reception and drove to Mayfield to visit Lilac Christensen Christen-sen while over there. Others who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Young and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barrett, making all members of the Oxel Johnson family present pres-ent for a nice visit. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Leetham and children of Tooele, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Nielson this week. Mrs. Joy Nielson went to Center-field, Center-field, Monday, to attend the funeral funer-al of Mr. Wm. Goats. Mr. and Mrs. R. C Weagle and son, "Eddie and Mr. Fred Finlinson and son, Fred, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Finlinson. Miss Salley Nielson spent the weekend home, with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nielson. Bud McCann had his father, from Payson, visiting over the weekend. ' . v v l ? 4 t I Hinckley - - - MRS. DON MORRIS The Hinckley Literary Club was held at the home of Dana Bishop. Roma Ekins gave the lesson on various magazine articles. Members Mem-bers present were, Harriet Spend-love, Spend-love, Roma Ekins, Evelyn Morris, Gladys Carter, Erma Cropper, Joy Hurst, Elaine Hardy, Angie Pratt, and Belva Morris. Invited guests were Enid Damron, Ruth Talbot, Thora Peterson, Arvilla Swensen, Vera Stevens, Delma Galli and Cheryl Hilton. Mrs. Clara Stewart took her husband, hus-band, George, back to Salt Lake to the hospital. Reva Talbot and her mother, Mrs. Gull, from Meadow, have gone to Florida for a two week's vacation vaca-tion with Reva's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Ace Henrickson (Karen Peterson) of Provo are rejoicing re-joicing over the birth of their first child, a lovely boy. Thora has gone to Provo to see the first grandchild. Beth Hepworth spent the week Mrs. Erma Styler left Wednesday Wednes-day to visit her daughter, Mrs. Lu-cile Lu-cile Farr, in Phoenix, Arizona. Lu-cile Lu-cile is recovering from surgery. Leo Day and Ray Cahoon visited with Don Day, who is a patient in the L.D.S. hospital. Saturday, his condition was somewhat improved. He still has to undergo surgery a-gain. a-gain. Ula has been with him constantly con-stantly since he was rushed to the hospital last Thursday. Elden Cahoon, Mrs. Ula Day and son, Bob, left Wednesday night for Cedar City, where Don was working when he was hurt. Ula remained in Cedar City over night and accompanied ac-companied Don to a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. LaMoine Bond and family, from Salt Lake, spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Horace. Hor-ace. Wilkins in Hinckley, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nichol. Ralph Nichol is home from school at Cedar City. They all enjoyed the hunt Saturday Satur-day and Sunday. Mrs. Shirle Skeem was a Salt Lake visitor last Friday. Mrs. Alfred Stanworth returned home Saturday, after spending some time with her mother in Logan Lo-gan and her daughter, Eva and family, in Orem. Ladd Kelly, from Riverton, Utah, spent the opening day of deer season sea-son with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peck Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Cropper, from Provo, were also at the Kelly's, inez Ann has been quite ill this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop and Mr. and Mrs. Layton Bishop were in Salt Lake last Thursday. Keith Sewart, from Meadow, visited vis-ited with his sister, Rose Nichol, last week. While here Keith and Dave enjoyed some hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Stanworth and family from Salt Lake visited at the home of Mrs. Geo. Stan worth and the Sanfords in Suther land. Marylee, the 3-year-old daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Berdell Mem- mott, had her tonsils removed Tues day. Mrs. LaVean Gillen entertained at a birthday party in honor of her daughter, Debbie, Saturday afternoon. after-noon. Twenty-four guests enjoyed games and ice cream and cookies. Nog, Norma and I even got in on the refreshments. Oscar Kelly took Ann Cropper and daughters to Provo Sunday. Inez Kelly, Darrel Cropper and Arlo Tay lor took the baby of Howard and Glenda Roundy to the hospital in Salt Lake Sunday forenoon. Scott, Joe and Barbara Roundy are with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper in Hinckley. They are recovering from cuts and bruises. Monday morning the reports re-ports on the baby was it had three skull fractures. Mrs. Ala Ashby, Relief Society Stake Board representative, was a S. ( ja. J Glonmoro IMS ISM MUtM i- end in Tooele and Salt Lake. Mr, and Mrs. Cleone Talbot and children and Mrs. Elsie Hunsaker and children of Provo, spent the weekend at the Lorin Talbot's. Mrs. Margene Jenson and two children, Margo and Wendee, left! last week to rejoin her husband, Dr. Verl Jensen in Anchorage, A-laska, A-laska, where he is a dentist in the armed forces. Mrs. Clo Hilton and Mrs. Margene Mar-gene Jensen attended the wedding reception in Salt Lake last week, for Karen McLachlan, a daughter of Ferris Hilton McLachlan. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hilton are leaving for Las Vegas, Thursday, to look for a home. They will return later for their two children. Douglas Green visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hilton over the weekend. We are all praying for the speedy recovery of Howard and Glenda Roundy's infant girl, and also for the rest of their children and Con ELLA CHRISTENSEN visitor last Tuesday in our meeting. meet-ing.
