Millard County Chronicle Hinckley Mrs. Beth Brown and two children child-ren returned Monday, from two week's vacation in Dunsmuir, Calif., where she visited with Ray"s parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stephens. Mrs. Minnie Talbot returned last week, from two weeks in Las Vegas, Veg-as, with her children. Thursday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Neal and Mr. and Mrs. Randle P. Swensen drove to St. George for a few days. From there they went on to Las Vegas and will return Sunday. An old time resident of Hinck-ly. Hinck-ly. Hardy Jenkins, and daughter, Pearl and husband, visited Wednesday Wednes-day in Hinckley. They moved to Logan and Pearl married Dr. Wendell Wen-dell 0. Rich, Institute of Religion of Utah State University, who delivered de-livered the address to the graduates gradu-ates of the Delta Seminary Wednesday Wed-nesday night. Hon and Erma Cropper received re-ceived word Wednesday morning, their daughter, Mary Ellen could be released to convalesce at home, so they were soon on their way to get her. Sunday morning, a call from Mrs. Roy P. Hilton stated that Bishop Roy was improving, but would have to remain another week. Win. B. Pratt was well enough to be up in the wheel chair and Hugh Hilton had left the hospital hos-pital and is staying with one of his daughters in Salt Lake feeling feel-ing a little better. Mrs. Dorothy Robison of Orem, was here to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mecham and see her sister LaDawn's graduation exercises. ex-ercises. Miss Joycene Spencer of Provo came for her brother Ydell's promotion exercises. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wilson went to Provo for their son Jay's graduation gradua-tion exercises. Their daughter, Irene Christensen of Provo, and children, returned with them to Hinckley. Patriarch Lafayette C. Lee and wife Pearl and Vic and Rose Niel-son Niel-son of Salt Lake, visited Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Stewart and other old friends and relatives in Hinckley Saturday and went out to the cemetery cem-etery to decorate their mother's and other relatives' graves. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh J. Judd, of Ely, took their mother, Mrs. Beth Judd and little sister Mabel and Linda on a vacation to Wilcox, Arizona, this week. Students home for graduation exercises were Joycene Spencer of BYU, Elwin Wright, Steve Talbot Howard Carrol and Phil Bennett C.S.U. Mr. and Mrs. George Nielson of St. George, are here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Allen Keller. They spent last week out to the Hot Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. J. Avery Bishop drove to Cedar City Thursday then on to St. George, Friday morning for the marriage in St. George Temple of a niece, Shirley Louise Walker of Henderson, Nevada and Richard Leslie Bell of Salt Lake. After the marriage, the bridal party were taken to dinner, given by the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bell and two aunts, Mrs. Carl Groves and Mrs. Christian of St. George. A wedding reception for the young couple was given Saturday night at Henderson, Nevada, by the mother of the bride, Mrs. Clemons Walker. Shirley is a stewardess on the Western Air Lines between Salt Lake and Denver. They will make their home in Washington, where Richard will go to college. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ivie of Salt I.ake were here to attend the promotion exercises, where Max-ine's Max-ine's sister, Noreen, gave a talk as an honor student of the Delta Jr. High and her other sister, Janet, Jan-et, was honor student of Delta High graduating class Roger Bliss came home from Whittier, Calif., for a short visit. Lillian Warnick announced the program. Berry Bish op led every one in a Salute to the Flag, and the 4-H pledge. Marjorie Judd gave a scripture reading. Talks were given by Donna Warnick, Warn-ick, Dot Spencer and Joy Hurst. Song by 4-H girls. Mrs. Nina Mecham, Seagull class leader, presented her class of girls for graduation to Bishop's councel-or, councel-or, Orlando Hepworth who presented present-ed them graduation certificates and President Beth Pratt of the Y. W. M. I. A. accepted them into the M. I. A. Janette Hurst, Clara Carpenter, Alice Gaye Bliss Gwen Bishop, Christine Hardy, and Mary Ellen Cropper sang "We are having Primary". Scholarship Elwin Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wright, who has been attending C. S. U. at Cedar City this year received a scholarship at theC. S. U. for the coming year for his exceptional talent and work in Art. He also received top honors for leather craft at the Academy Ac-ademy of Science and Arts at the B. Y. U. This award was presented at the annual convocation Service held May 25th at C. S. U. auditorium. audito-rium. Salute Honor Students for High Achievements Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper received re-ceived word their son Daryl had been named Honor Student. The B. Y. U. held its third annual Salute Sal-ute to Academic Honors for students stud-ents w ho have earned a 3.25 grade point average' for the past three quarters. Reception was given by the President, the faculty members and their wives and the committee on scholarships and awards. Daryl and his wife Ann were invited to this "Salute to Honor" reception held in the Smith family living center. Graduation It was Hinckely Elementary School graduation services Wednesday Wed-nesday night. The graduating class invited their parents to their program. pro-gram. First was a march of the graduates, who were Lewis Swensen, Swen-sen, Clara Carpenter, Chris Hardy, Janette Hurst, Alice Gaye Bliss, David Ekins, David Stevens Gwen Bishop, Garry Greener, Mel Wright, Dick Mecham, Russel Talbot, Mary Ellen Cropper, Susan Reeve, Sandra San-dra Taylor, Rose Ann Spencer, and Elden Ekins. Rose Ann Spencer sang a solo. Duet by David Ekins and Russel Talbot, Dick Mecham sang a solo, Poem, Chris Hardy, Solo Susan Reeve, and reading, Mell Wright. Refreshments were served and dancing, where the girls chose their dads and the boys their moms in square dancing. Mrs. Mary Taylor returned Sat urday night from a month's visit in American Fork with daughter, Gwen. Miss La Wana workman visited in Tooele this week. Baby Shower Mrs. Emma Lou Harris and Ver-na Ver-na Taylor surprised Mrs. Carolyn Stevens with a stork shower Friday evening. Invited guests were Joanne Joan-ne Stewart, Julia Carpenter, Elizabeth Eliza-beth Tanner, Launita Bishop, Veola Tanner, Carol Bishop, Bonnie Man-is Man-is and Marlene Bliss. Refreshments were served and games played. Mrs. Emma Spendlove Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Spendlove and children went to American Fork Sunday for Parents Day at the Training school. Sunday morning at the ampitheatre the children in beautiful costumes put on a show for the parents, where they acted out nursery rhymes and stories, not all the children took part but a great many of them did. Ralph Skeem, 'former bishop of Oasis Ward, officiated. A reception followed, in Third Ward recreation hall, and the young couple greeted friends from nine o'clock until midnight. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Blake, of Delta. Mr. Stanworth Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stanworth of Delta. For her wedding the lovely bride was gowned in chantilly lace over nylon tulle and taffeta, styled with fitted bodice and bouffant floor-length floor-length skirt. Sequins and pearls outlined the neckline and collar and wrists of the long tapered sleeves. Her veil of Illusion was held by a jewelled cap, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations around an orchid. She was attended by her sister, Loa Rose Hanson, gowned in pink, as maid of honor, and bridesmaids, Coralie Ogden, in, blue, Connie Rae Hanson, in yellow, and JoAnn Cal-ister, Cal-ister, in green. They carried nosegays nose-gays of carnations. Maria Dew-snup Dew-snup was flower girl, in a picture frock of pink and Lyle Stanworth performed best man duties for his brother. LaMar Dewsnup, uncle of the bride was master of ceremonies for the program. The trio of Carol Ann Morrison, Judy Bishop and Nedra Fullmer sang, and Sherida Allen gave an original reading. Darwin Dewsnup played two accordion ac-cordion numbers, "The Lovliest Night in the Year," and a polka. Mrs. Louenza Willoughby gave an original musical reading, with ac-campaniment ac-campaniment by Mrs. Ila Stanworth. Stan-worth. Ralph Rawlinson sang, "Dreaming," and played his guitar. The beautiful tiered wedding cake cut by the couple was made by Mrs. Rose Dewsnup, grandmother grand-mother of the bride, and decorated honor of her daughter Rae Lene's 5th birthday Friday. Miss Stephens is a graduate of Cedar City High School, and Mr. Bradfield will be graduated from College of Southern Utah May 30. The young couple is planning an August wedding. Turner, of Lapel Indiana, are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Rebecca Ann, to Mr. Fred LaVerl Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jackson, of Delta. Their marriage vows were made on Saturday, May 24. A reception to honor the couple will 'be Saturday night, May 31, with parents of the bridegroom as hosts, in Delta First Ward recreation recrea-tion hall. Gardner entertained at their home at a Buffet supper following the Seminary Sem-inary Graduation Exercises May 21 in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Wendell Rich, head of the Institute of Religion Relig-ion of Utah State University, who was guest speaker for the Seminary Semin-ary Excercises. Joan Deardon was flower girl. Jack Terry stood as best man for Mr. Dearden. Best wishes and congratulations were extended to the newlyweds and wedding gifts. There was dancing dan-cing and a program.
