West, who until May 29 was Miss Geraldine Francom, was the honored guest and her mother, Mrs. Kenneth E. Francom, American Fork, and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Thomas M. West, Pleasant Grove, were hostesses at abridal shower Thursday afternoon. Baskets and bouquets of pink and white peonies decorated the recreation hall of the Pleasant Grove First ward when the party was held. The bride wore a rose afternoon dress trimmed with silver sequins and enhansed with a corsage of pink rosebuds and white carnations. Entertainment was provided by Mrs. Robert Smith, American Fork, and Mrs. Clifford Bachus, Provo, who sang two duets; Miss Meriam Francom, sister of the bride, a vocal solo; a reading by Mrs. Junior N. Williamson, and a tribute to the bride and groom by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Francom, Payson. The bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts for her new home. The couple, who were married Saturday in Provo by Verl G. Dixon, will make a home in Pleasant Grove. Wood-Gordon Marriage To Be Temple Affair Mr. and Mrs. J. Ralph Wood, Fillmore, have announced the engagement of their daughter Elaine and Howard Hunter Gordon, Gor-don, son of Mrs. G. Hudson Gordon, American Fork. The marriage will take place Friday, June 11, in the Salt Lake temple. Parents of the bride will entertain enter-tain Saturday evening at their home in Fillmore at a reception for the young couple. The bride-elect is a graduate of the Brigham Young university where she was affiliated with Cesta Tie social unit. During the past winter she taught English Eng-lish in the Tooele high school. Mr. Gordon served three years in. the United States army with overseas duty in the Pacific and Japan. He is a student at the BYU where he Is a member of the Brlgidiers. . The y plan to make their home in Springville. Mrs. Joseph F. Walton and Mrs. Grace Coates have gone to California where they will spend three weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Max Walton, Sacramento, and Mr. and Mrs. Foster Merrill, San Francisco. Party Honors Priday-Sykes Marriage Newlyweds Margaret Priday and William B. Sykes received the congratulations and good wishes of their many friends Tuesday evening, June 1, following their marriage earlier in the day in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Vows were exchanged before Elder Clifford E. Young assistant to the twelve, in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas S. Priday and Mrs. Glen J. Sykes, parents of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ray Hansen, and Leland Priday. . The reception was held at the Priday home which was tastefully taste-fully decorated for the occasion. Guests were received by Leland Priday, brother, and Mrs. Don Clyde, Heber, aunt of the bride; Cecil Ray Hansen, brother-in law, and Mrs. Frank Brough, Nephi, aunt of the groom. Heavy slipper satin, entrain, wtyh a marquisette yoked trimmed trim-med in pearls made up the bridal gown. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was caught to a pearl trimmed cornet, and she car ried a bouquet of white gladiola and lilies-of-the-valley s u r rounding a single orchid. Attendants, Mrs. Merrill R. Nicholes had charge of the dining room, Mrs. Hugo Reimschiissel and Mrs. Leonard S. Harrington presided over the refreshments and were assisted in serving by Edith and Nancy Moss, Marie and Marilyn Miller, and Miriam Brough. Immediately following the ceremony the young couple left for the west coast for a ten days honeymoon. Accompanying Accom-panying them to the temple were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Hales, Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. K. J. Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Dean S. Webb, Lehi, Mrs. Lennis E. Abel, Mrs. Glen J. Sykes and Mrs. Glen Varney. Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Bird were hosts at a reception in Firmage Hall complimenting their daughter and her husband. The bridal party received before tall candelabra and palms, ana baskets of roses and peonies decorated the hall. Dressed in white slipper satin, with a finger-tip veil caught to a crown of pearls, the bride carried car-ried a bouquet of orchids and gardenias. Mrs. Virgil Wootton, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and Miss Joyce Houston, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Maxine Sanderson, Sandy; Miss Myra Bradley, Manti; Miss Elaine Smith, Miss Joy Green, and Miss Dorothy Hales, Spanish Fork, sister of the groom. Pink carnations tied with white streamers made their bouquets. Mothers of the couple were in blue with pink rose corsages. Victor Thurgood, Spanish Fork, stood as best man. Earl Holmstead acted as mas ter of ceremonies for a program which included a vocal solo by Lewis Garrett, a toast to the bride by Mrs. Bert Timpson, a vocal solo, Russell Webb, Lehi; violin solo, Miss Joan Ellison; vocal duet, Miss Mary Peck and Wendell Strong; ladies trio, Miss Kathleen Devey, Miss Joan Ellison Elli-son and Miss, Peck. Accompan ists were Mrs. Russell Webb and Miss JoAnne Boley. Mrs. Lennis E. Abel and Mrs. Dean Webb, sisters of the bride, received the guests. Gifts were received by George Abel and Bradley Webb and Mrs. Ronald Price and Mrs. Lynn Milne had charge of the gift rooms.
