In some districts nearly three-fourths three-fourths of the voters registered cast their ballot. TO A LADY DEPARTED Farewell to a lovely lady, A lady of charm and grace, A lady of rare sweet goodness As all could see by her face. She cared not for pomp nor glory. But always for home and friends; To commend her loving kindness A tribut this message sends. A tribute to those who miss her, WTio loved her dearly and well; To them her dear, tender presence May seem as though in a shell; But ever the shell will be open, In it, they will see her dear face, ' And listening, hear quiet whisperings, Loving words they need to retrace. And the fond mother who left them Will encircle them with her love, And her sweet presence be near them To soothe as a cooing dove.
