County Has New Federal Expert Utah county now has an emergency war food preservation preserva-tion assistant, with the recent aDDOintment of Mrs. Blanche H. Sorenson of Mancos, Colorado, to the post. She will work through the Utah Extension Service, headed by Director W. W. Owens and Assistant Directar Myrtle Davidson. Mrs. Sorenson will assume her duties immediately, consisting of acquainting farm people with the work of preserving food for victory, assisting all food preservers pre-servers with new methods of the work, using organizations and neighborhood leaders to disseminate dissemi-nate information, teaching and working and in general supervising super-vising all phases of the emergency emergen-cy food program. All ward members are cordially invited to attend. 86th BIRTHDAY HONORED Mrs. Clara Stoker was entertained enter-tained at the home of Mrs. May Gunther Friday, May 12, in honor hon-or of the 86th anniversary of her birth. During the afternoon a group of twenty-two ladies gathered gath-ered to extend greetings and appreciation ap-preciation for her friendship. Many lovely gifts were received by the honored guest. A decorative scheme of pink! and white was carried out. The ! table was covered with a lovely1 lace cloth over pink satin, for the centerpiece a bowl of pink tulips and peach Blossoms, and on either side crystal candelabra holding pink tapers. Smaller bowls of white narcissus completed com-pleted the table decorations. The pink and white color scheme also was carried out in the refreshments. In the receiving line were t.hp bride, dressed in a smart light green tailored suit. Dink acces sories, and a corsage of gar denias and pink rosebuds; Mrs. Dickerson in a two-piece' teel blue dress, and Mrs. Eldred Fox, sister of the bride who. wore a gray street dress. Both wore corsages of pink sweet peas and gardenias. Games were led by Mrs. J. Stanley Peters of American Fnrfc cousin of the bride, and a pro gram was presented as follows: Vocal solo, Miss Edna Norman; piano solos, Miss Geraldine Clark of Salt Lake City; duet, Miss Doris Johnson and Miss Willa Hadfield, and a vocal solo by Mrs. Fern Johnson of Lehi. The bridegroom Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. L: Southworth of Logan, and is serving in the Country's Armed Forces. The young couple were married mar-ried April 21st in the Salt Lake temple.
