Wines Wood-house, Wood-house, wife of Isaac Woodhouse, died Suddenly Monday morning, April 22, at her home in Ruby Valh-y, Nevada, according to word received here by Lehi friends. In a Nevada paper the following account was given: "Ruby valley lost one of 1U best loved citizens with the sudden death of Mrs. Erminie R. Woodhoase In Elko early this morning. Mrs. Wood-house Wood-house had been feeling fine until yesterday afternoon when she suddenly sud-denly became ill. She was brought to Elko by her husband, Isaac Wood- house, and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Murphy. "Mrs. Woodhouse was born in Lehi, Utah, March 23. 1879 and she came to Ruby valley when she was a small child. She lived with her parents at the Overland ranch, In southern Ruby valley, where they raised grain for the horses, which trucked through that area. "She married Isaac Woodhouse March 18, 1891 In Provo, Utah. Had she lived until March 18, 1941 they would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. "After their marriage they lived at the Overland ranch for four years and for the next four years Mr. Woodhouse ran a stage from Palisade to Eureka. "Shortly after they bought a ranch in Ruby valley, where they lived since. They built the ranch together and raised a family, having hav-ing five children still surviving: One son, Ira Woodhouse of Chicago, and four daughters, Mrs. Ermie Westlund, LamoUle; Mrs. Florence Miller, Elko; Mrs. Luella Woolver-ton, Woolver-ton, Helper, Utah; Mrs. Bernlece Gregory, Jiggs. She Is also survived sur-vived by a sister, Mrs. Lewis Sharp of Ruby valley and three brothers, Gene Wines, Stanley and Blaine Wines. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Ira D. Wines, now deceased. Mrs. Woodhouse was postmaster of Ruby valley for 35 years. 9 She held this position until about five years ago when her health made this Impossible. Whittle Pond. 81, mother of Mrs. David I. Gardner of this city, died Tuesday at 12:35 a. m. from causes incident to her age. , She was born January 15, 1859 In Grantsvllle, a daughter of Casper Cas-per and Mary Ann Harris Whittle. She was married to Lwts S. Pond and had lived In Idaho for 36 years. Surviving are three sons, L. Sumner Sum-ner Pond of Grace, Idaho; Dr. C. W. Pond of Pocatello, Idaho, and Joseph M. Pond of Portland, Oregon; Ore-gon; six daughters, Mrs. Flora Wright of Thatcher, Mrs. Myrtle Turner of Gooding, Idaho; Mrs. Clare Bergstrom of Cedar City, Mrs. Eugenia Dean of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Teresa Dunn of Logan and Mrs. Gail Gardner of Lehl; two brothers and three sisters.' Funeral services will be conducted today (Thursday) at 12:30 p. m. at 125 North Main street, Salt Lake City by Bishop Heber C. Kimball of the Eighteenth North L. D. S'. ward. Burial will be in the Richmond Rich-mond cemetery. Release Report On Payments For Conservation With the 1939 AAA farm and range conservation payments practically prac-tically complete in Utah county, David H. Jones, chairman of the county agricultural conservation committee, said today that a total of $97,658.68 had been earned by farmers (and ranch operators) of the county. These payments have gone to 2000 farmers (and ranchers) for carrying out approved soil-building (and range-building) practices. Under provisions of the AAA program, pro-gram, farmers (and ranchers) must carry out certain approved practices prac-tices to earn conservation payments. pay-ments. March 31 was the deadline for signing applications for payments under the 1939 Agricultural Conservation Con-servation and Range Conservation programs. A check of applications signed shows that 2088 farmers (and 15 range operators) requested payments. pay-ments.
