Following the study and decision to increase the fees, TSSD representatives at first thought it would apply a capital facilities fee to pay to an expansion to its plant. Ground broken for new charter school in Lindon By Harlow Clark Timpanogos Academy, a new charter school with students from several north county communities, broke ground Friday, April 5 in a late afternoon ceremony. School founder Eric Smith addressed a group of parents par-ents and children, and thanked the landowner, Leonard Lee. Smith explained that charter schools receive funding from the state rather than property tax revenues, and the charter needs to be renewed in three years, which makes them risky loan prospects for banks giving out 20-year loans, which is why most charter schools lease a building. Smith said the school was fortunate to have found Lee. "Leonard put his finances on the line for us." OneGreatFamily.com he was instrumental in thede-velopment thede-velopment of the LDS Church's FamilySearch.org website. He resides in Springville with his wife and six children. Following the main presentation, pres-entation, the following classes are planned: Basic PAF by Gayle Tippets, Documenting Sources by Duane Dudley, a Question and Answer session by Alan Eaton, Using Ancestry Family Tree at Ancestry.com by David Ouimette, Keeping Your PC Healthy by Bob Caswell, Legacy by Geoff Rasmussen, Family Origins by Bruce Buzbee and a video tape of last month's main presentation on Place your classified ad today. Call 756-7669 New Utah - He also thanked the state senator who sponsored the bill that made several new charter schools possible, including Timpanogos Academy. Lee told the group it was a good match because the Lindon city council had turned down other proposals propos-als he had made for the land. "Over there behind that crane are 47 wall sections sec-tions all cast, ready to stand up," Lee said, which would make the building come together very quickly. After Smith and several adults took turns with the shovel, children lined up to expand the hole. "Stay inside the line," Smith joked, pointing to the chalked outline of the school. Children also had fun climbing several large dirt piles and running along the tops. UTGenWeb.com by Andy Wold.
