Jonny Nielsen came off the bench for 12 points and Lincoln Reid had nine. The Orem offense scored 18 points in each of the last two quarters to cement the victory. Mac Nelson was the only T-Wolf that could get anything any-thing going offensively. He scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half but could not get much help for the rally. "We have to continue to play defense like we did tonight and rebound the ball," Conner said. MARTIN HARRIS Times Sports Editor It almost appeared no one wanted to win this game but in the end Lone Peak shot better from the free throw line to beat Timpanogos 33-27, sending the Knights to the 4A state tournament as the three seed from Region 7. Both teams shot poorly from the field, Timpanogos 30-percent and Lone Peak 29-percent, and both committed com-mitted 27 turnovers apiece but the Knights made 11-of-15 shots from the line to keep the T-Wolves from rallying ral-lying late in the fourth quarter. At the end of the first period, the Knights led 4-2 and at halftime they increased their lead to 11-7. "I've never seen us shoot so poorly," Lone Peak coach Cindy Lawrence said. "This is a huge win for these kids after only winning three games last year." The Knights improve to 12-9 on the season and the Wolves finish' 9-12. The T-Wolves had plenty of opportunities to rally but too many missed, wide-open shots and turned the ball over too many times, a problem prob-lem that has plagued the team all year. Even still they had a chance to win because Lone Peak was having all the same problems but the Wolves could not make their free throws. The Wolves went six-of-14 from the charity stripe.
