The Dons came out far more confident. After a Nicole Baxter field goal, the Bruins called a timeout and were looking up at a scoreboard telling them they trailed 8-2. "I asked them if they felt that Spanish Fork was going to lay down," Mountain View coach Dave Houle said. The status quo was restored as the Bruins went on a 30-2 run to end the half, including shutting out the Dons in . the second quarter. The Bruins went on to win and advance to the second round with a 55-23 win. The spark came from the post-players, particularly Lora Mitchell. With her team trailing, she scored five straight and started giving Mountain View second chance shots as she yanked down offensive rebounds. "I was thinking What is wrong with us?' I knew we could play better than this," Mitchell said. "I thought we were looking past this and not thinking that it would be a tough game." The post-players had to step up because the Bruins struggled from beyond the arc. They missed 15 of their first 16 attempts and finished fin-ished the game three-of-21. "We couldn't hit the ocean if we were standing on it," Houle said. Ashley Henry led all f 1 i ' " ' ' 1 1 - . ''V.-j, . i -1 Photo by Martin Hi-L Mountain View's Ashley Henry battles in the paint.
