The company opened for dinner starting Monday and will have regular hours beginning next week. Prior to this, however, there has been a lot of practice and training. There were six days of training for the staff. "We want everybody to be familiar with the menu," said general manager John Bodily. "We do quizzing on different aspects of the food and the recipes. They play a game to help learn the recipes." Bodily explained there are two teams the service and the culinary. "We do a food show where we take all of the items around and practice serving and every aspect of the dining experience to the teams. We split them up into two groups. One is the guests and the other is the teammates." They take turns with the different parts. "We do extensive training for the food and line and all aspects of the genuine Italian dining experience," he said. Olive Garden Where: 538 W. It has a Tuscan farmhouse theme. "It is to give the diners that feeling of what it would be like to be having a dinner in a Tuscan home," Bodily said. "The design and decor, such as mixing rock and brick, give it a combination of old and new." To recognize Bodily's role as head of the Olive Garden family in American Fork and to emphasize the importance the company places on its general managers, Olive Garden Gar-den honored Bodily by setting his name in stone. Travertine marble imported from Tuscany Tusca-ny was chiseled with Bodily's name and placed by the front door. One of Bodily's favorite things to do is what he calls "hospy runs." Those are hospitality hos-pitality deliveries to various locations in the community. "We go to places like the police department and fire department," he said. "Sometimes "Some-times we go to local businesses. busi-nesses. We take food out to them and let them enjoy it. We try to do it at least two times a month." He said he had been impressed im-pressed by the community and the welcome the restaurant had already received.
