Six years ago an unex-, unex-, pected terror came to Lehi. Even though , some of the flocal witch hunters, vam-""pire vam-""pire slayers and ghost busters with their silver ' bullets, exorcisms and holy r water have tried to rid their tranquil little community of this horror, it just keeps coming back. The "Scream Theatre" will be haunting the inhabitants inhabi-tants again this year at the Lehi City's Arts Center located at 685 N. Center St. The arts council will reintroduce the Halloween series after an of absence of two years by presenting PREY, an intense thriller. This play is about a small group of people trapped in a cabin deep in .. the woods during hunting season. Their attempt to survive the night as a vicious creature stalks them will bring fear to 'even the stoutest hearts. J; PREY will open on Thursday, Oct. 21 and run' through Oct. 30, excluding Sunday. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Lehi Arts Center's Glen M. Smith Theater. Tickets are $6 and can be reserved by calling 801-836-1834, or purchased at the door. Since the theater is small and good seats go quickly, reservations are strongly recommended. The "Scream Theatre" started out as a homegrown home-grown tradition six years ago when director Brenda Grant realized there was nothing for young adults to do during the Halloween . season. She asked Tyler Yates to write a play that would give "kids the thrills and chills I they so actively seek during t this time of year. The result was PREY. ! "But we soon discovered that there was a vast audience who ate this sort of thing up like trick-or-treat candy." Grant continued, "They wanted more so for the next three years we wrote and produced new Halloween thrillers. The four plays are Prey, The Color of Innocence, Inno-cence, Bloodkiss and Ripper. Rip-per. The creative duo have already written a new play for next year that will follow fol-low the same tradition of scares and special effects that they have become so infamous for. Both Grant and Yates are . aware that,, this kind of entertainment is for a special spe-cial audience that enjoys being scared, the same type that would go to haunted houses.
