Her piano solo arrangement arrange-ment of "I Often Go Walking" Walk-ing" received Special Recognition. Recog-nition. "I wrote it for Mother's Day in 2002," said Emily. "I wrote it in four hours. I was thinking about my mom ." A music teacher, she takes pride in her students. "My students are my biggest accomplishment in life," she said. "I am a big supporter of funding for the arts. Music involved reading, read-ing, writing and math, and is helpful with languages. If there are cuts for the arts it will put Utah in the Dark Ages." She is a founder of risk. Lehi Class of 1988 The Lehi Class of 1988 will hold a reunion Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Historic Colonial House. It begins at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. The cost is $65 per couple and $35 single. Anyone with questions ques-tions may contact Sharee Carlton Hills at 768-0161. Lehi Class of 1983 The Lehi High School Class of 1983 announces its 20th reunion on Saturday, Aug. 9. It will be held at the Lehi Legacy Center, 123 N. Center Street. Socializing will begin at 6 p.m. with appetizers followed fol-lowed by dinner at 7 p.m. Classmates can R.S.V.P. through July 30 with $20 to Bruce and Julie Rafiner, 320 E. 500 North, Lehi. A family picnic will be held at noon the same day at Bandwagon Park. Those attending should bring their own lunch. Class members are having a difficult time locating the following students. American Fork Class of 1978 The American Fork High School graduating gradu-ating class of 1978 will hold its 25 year class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Mel-lor Mel-lor Banquets, 877 N. 100 East, Lehi. Social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. If not registered it's not to late to attend this reunion. The cost will be $30 per person which will still be able to be paid that evening. The committee has had a hard time locating some of the class members. If someone has not been contacted, please inform them of the reunion. Fork names winners in annual Steel Days Art Show The 2003 Steel Days Art Show featured 400 pieces of art work in oilacrylics, water media, mixed media, drawing, graphics, photography, photog-raphy, and sculpture, categories. cate-gories. Four painted doors from the "Decorated Door" contest con-test were also shown. Many awards were given to those winning first, second, third, and honorable mention ribbons rib-bons at the awards ceremony ceremo-ny held on Thursday evening, July 17. The judges choice for the "Best of Show" award in the professional and novice division was Ben Hammond. Ham-mond. His entry was a sculpture sculp-ture piece entitled "Waiting Mother." Austin Domin-quez's Domin-quez's art piece, "My Best Family," was selected by the judges in the Children and Youth Division. Hammond is working on a large brass commission for Blair Buswell. Austin is the son of Karissa Toulou and will be a second grader at Mt Mahogany Elementary Elemen-tary School in the fall. The viewer in the adult section chose, Jellah Bon-nell's Bon-nell's oil and acrylic work entitle "Doc bar - Legendary Leg-endary Horse" as the People's Peo-ple's Choice and Mallory Peterson's oil and acrylic picture of "Bob" as the youth and Children's selection selec-tion for a similar award. 1 V Jericho Road will perform In Alpine on Aug. 9 Jericho Road comes to Alpine Alpine will cap off its 2003 week of community festivities with an outdoor concert starring Jericho Road on Saturday, Aug. 9. The popular four-member group, which was honored hon-ored with four nominations from the Faith Centered Music Association's Pearl Awards on July 14, will include songs from its two CDs in the performance. Opening for the group will be the Rasmussen Barbershop Bar-bershop Quartet with some classics for every age group. The Alpine Days fireworks show will immediately follow fol-low the concert in Burgess Park. Reserved chair seating tickets are available at $6 for adults and $4 for children chil-dren by calling 492-0202 or through the Michael Porter offices at 255 S. Main in Alpine.. Non-reserved seating is available on the park's lawn area at no charge, so bring a blanket for the whole family.
