Family Literacy Centers are located throughout Utah County, in nearly every city. For the volunteer with more time to offer, qualified leaders in the community can assist by directing a facility. Family Literacy Centers encourage volunteers of all ages to use their skills to become involved, whether it be tutoring, assisting in the office or advertising for the centers. Other volunteer opportunities opportu-nities include: Support children with life-limiting conditions. I1IC Pediatric Palliative Care is seeking compassionate individuals indi-viduals to serve children and youth who have life-limiting life-limiting conditions, as well as their families. Volunteers are paired one-on-one with a family who requests additional addi-tional support. Volunteers can improve the quality of life for these children by reading with the child, listening lis-tening to him or her, or involving the child in art projects and various other fun activities. Additionally, volunteers spend time playing play-ing with the siblings or supporting sup-porting the parents of the child receiving care. Volunteers Volun-teers give, parents a much needed break and provide siblings with extra care and attention. Volunteers serve in the homes of families for approximately two to four hours each week.
