A 21-year-old female was arrested for an alleged unlawful use of a stolen credit card and possession of a forged writing writ-ing device, both felonies, and for providing false information to an officer. Officers said the suspect had attempted to buy several sev-eral hundred dollars worth of jewelry and other items at a local business. Residential Burglary. A 22-year-old man was arrested for residential burglary. The suspect had apparently entered a residence res-idence in Cedar Hills by breaking a window win-dow while the family was on vacation. Several Sev-eral different prescription drugs were stolen. Stolen Vehicle, Forgery. A 21-year-old woman was arrested for suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and forgery. The suspect had allegedly purchased a vehicle by writing writ-ing a stolen check. The vehicle was found by detectives at the suspect's residence. Arrest Warrant. A 47-year-old woman was arrested for an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for assault and intoxication. intoxica-tion. Bad Check. A 40-year-old man was arrested for two counts of issuing a bad check after he apparently wrote checks valued at $2,4C0 and $1,200. The victim contacted the police department, when he found that there was not enough money in the accounts to cover either of the checks. Retail Theft. Two juvenile males were arrested for retail theft after they allegedly alleged-ly stole soda pop from a local convenience store. Pickup Order. A juvenile male was arrested on a pickup order and booked into juvenile detention after officers went to assist an employee of the Juvenile Court. Arson. Two juvenile males were arrested for arson after they allegedly started several fires. The suspects were said to have started several fires at a local elementary school which resulted in minimal damage. An additional fire was started near the interstate, inter-state, which resulted in damage to a power pole and transformer. The suspects were also allegedly responsible for several other small fires. Arrest Warrant. A 25-year-old man was arrested on two outstanding arrest warrants. A bail bondsman wanted the suspect taken into custody. Retail Theft. A juvenile male was arrested for retail theft after he allegedly stole CDs from a local business. Retail theft, resisting arrest, and assault. A 19-year-old man was arrested for retail theft, resisting arrest and assault. The suspect apparently attempted to steal two computer printer ink cartridges car-tridges by putting them down his pants. When he was approached by the store security personnel he began resisting and fighting in an attempt to get away. Retail Theft. A juvenile male was arrested for retail theft and a juvenile pickup order. The suspect had allegedly stolen a magazine from a local business. The suspect was on probation and was arrested and booked into juvenile detention deten-tion on a pickup order. Arrest warrant. A 43-year-old man was arrested for an outstanding felony arrest warrant from Texas for residential burglary. The suspect was traveling through town when his motorcycle broke down. Officers discovered the suspect was wanted in Texas when they ran the license plates through their computers. When the suspect returned for his motorcycle, he was arrested. The individual was also a suspect in several other Utah County burglaries. bur-glaries. . Retail Theft. A 20-year-old woman was arrested for retail theft after she allegedly attempted to take film from a local business without paying for it. Driving-Under-the-Influence. A 26-year-old man was arrested for DUI after he was stopped for several traffic violations. viola-tions. A 20-year-old woman passenger was arrested for illegal consumption. Suspension, arrest warrant. A 41-year-old woman was cited for driving with a suspended license and a 41-year-old woman passenger was arrested for an outstanding out-standing arrest warrant after a vehicle was stopped for a stop sign violation. Possession of stolen property. An 18-year-old man and a juvenile male were arrested for possession of stolen property after officers checked out a suspicious vehicle. In the vehicle, the officers allegedly alleged-ly found a gun which had been taken during dur-ing a burglary in Provo. "Probably three-fourths three-fourths are moved before the (police) officers get there." Belmont has suggested the city consider a nuisance ordinance similar to one in effect in Provo. Under that law, offenders are issued a ticket, similar to a traffic citation. Their response has so far been good, according to Belmont. The council plans on looking at the issue at a work session on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 3 p.m. Neighbors also objected to the increase in traffic the development would bring. Several said that 50 South is not adequate for the residents resi-dents already there. "The (school) bus stops at 1100 East and 700 East," said Glenn Roundy. "The road is not wide enough for children to walk on." He said he has had opportunities to move to Highland, but would like to stay where he is. "We would rather the developer move to Highland," High-land," he said. Another neighbor, Reed Pagliarini, said the proposed pro-posed development would add to problems already in the area. "I am in basically a box canyon right now," he said of his home on 50 South'. "The city has closed me off and made my property! worth nothing."
